The only question is what will PFX be, will it be just continued development of the platform into Block 4

Continued development with some changes like a new powerful engine, or RAM coating, avionics etc

Or a significant change to the platform that is 4.5+

If there is going to be any new block of JF-17, it should come with a Chinese engine with much more power and thrust then RD-93. Otherwise it's not worth putting Ferrari body on a mopid engine.

We are collaborating with China and Turkiye for many projects, including various types of modern drones and 5th gen fighters. Also, we are working on our own engine but that is the holy grail of airpower and I will not be surprised if we have to use a Chinese engine in PFX.

I agree. In my understanding, PFX project has an end goal of a 5th gen but first there will be a semi-stealth 4.5 gen aircraft. Now, will it be completely based on JF or a bigger size medium weight fighter remains to be seen.

The original and only respect worthy IAF is the IAF.
Like them or hate them, Israelis have taught the world several master classes on OCA, DAS, SEAD (they were the pioneer in the use of UCAVS Beka 82), EW etc.

The other one is a pure shit show, thats why i always refer to it as InAF.

Don’t overthink it or analyze it too deeply.

We will get J-35AE, J-35BC, or J-35CE once a fully customized version is ready!

At first, we wanted older J-10A version until we could get the perfect J-20CE (heavily customized) - oh sorry, I mean the J-10CE

I hope the PAF realise that J-35 are not needed this soon. And if they buy them now, not only will it drain all the budget but operating them will be so expensive for PAF that budget for new aircraft's purchases will become a constant issue.

Also, It was a good decision to not buy J-10 in 2010-15. It paid off. The platform got matured and then we bought it on discounted rates. I think we need to wait 2-3 years for J-35 as well and focus on more J-10C. Because not only we dont have any need for J-35 till end of 2027, but we also need to focus more on J-10C that is proven asset and needed in numbers.

India is not going to field any real 5G fighter jet by atleast end of 2028.

The point most of you all are missing is the long range and dual engine requirement that has been hanging around for decades.

PAF has always needed such platforms for deep strike. J-35 combined with its stealth capabilities fits the puzzle even if we acquire it immediately.

Do note that 7th May was just an Area denial victory. We didn’t launch any offensive inside the indian territories which will definitely be needed the next time.

Apart from that, The J-35 is equipped with bar better radars and EW suites than those on J-10C or Thunders so our BVR game is gonna get even stronger.

It will act as a force multiplier which is what the Pakistan Military needs as compared to the numerical superiority of India.
