If there is any truth whatsoever behind this report, the optics are not good for the President. It could also be another CIA psyop trying to make the Administration look bad given the current domestic politics and the US is entering the mid-term election season.

last time CIA played a part in a smear campaign against Trump was the Russia-gate, but that was when it's taking instructions from the Obama administration, right now I can't think of a reason for the CIA to undermine Trump

I'm of the opinion it was Obama's 3rd term, sometimes mistakenly referred to as the Biden Administration, that has sealed the fate of the country. Still a lot of rogue elements at both CIA and FBI along with DOJ.

No commercial ships are going to sail via the Strait while there is shooting going on, regardless of the presence of the US Navy. Someone try to make genius Trump and his generals understand this.

What people do not understand or realise is that the US does not just need to move all the ships currently inside the Persian Gulf out of the Strait of Hormuz and into the Arabian Sea to free them, but they also need to be able to make ships that are willing and able to go into the strait to pick up the oil and leave again and then come back for a third, fourth trips and so on. Just getting those ships currently stuck in the Gulf is not going to solve the oil price issue, and Iran knows the US isn't going to pick up that game without an international coalition.

As you claim you have served in US military, if this is your level of tactical and strategic understanding of how the things work then I have little hope for American success.
