I predicted it.... 😊
This is the only confirmed update evidence for the JF-17 series fighter jets since the JF-17B3.

The "new rear end" of the JF-17B at the 2025 Changchun Airshow in China.

Image analysis confirms that the inner ring shape of the engine nozzle matches that of the WS-21 engine.

This indicates that CAC and Research Institute 611 have completed the development phase of replacing the RD-93 engine with the WS-21 in the JF-17 fighter jet.

According to news on this forum, PAC has completed relevant testing in Pakistan. Therefore, we may see the new version of the JF-17 fighter jet officially enter mass production soon.

Based on the currently publicly available and verifiable information, it is now basically confirmed that the new version of the JF-17 fighter jet will be equipped with the WS-21 engine. There may also be some upgrades to certain internal avionics systems. However, its overall appearance will not change significantly.

As for whether it will be fitted with IRST, this is still uncertain. Nevertheless, this is a capability that is highly necessary to add.

Any verification of the news suggesting hq 19 is incoming?

Pakistan’s US$12 Billion HQ-19 Missile Shield Deal With China Could Redraw South Asia’s Nuclear Balance
Pakistan’s reported acquisition of China’s HQ-19 anti-ballistic missile system, alongside J-35A stealth fighters and KJ-500 AEW&C aircraft, could fundamentally alter India’s strike doctrine, regional nuclear deterrence stability, and the future missile defense balance across South Asia.

If indeed WS21 engines are tested, it means this was one of the reasons Pakistan delayed the production of more BLK III JF-17s.

why do we always assume the craziest scenarios lol

why not that there was just no funds lol
Because clearly funds haven't stopped Pakistan from procuring what it NEEDs...........what Pakistan WISHES, sure we dont have funds for that.

Reminds me of what previous PAF ACM said on Rafales procurement by India........that whatever India procures, will be matched by Pakistan. There is no question about it.

A sitting air chief doesn't make such remarks.....and clearly the higher up echelons of power know more than anyone here.

its not coming...

Delayed or denied???

Or was hoax from the beginning ???
Regarding this "$12 billion incident," the biggest question is, why hasn't any reporter gone to ask the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of National Defense?

Usually, if news like this circulates internationally, reporters would quickly seek verification at the regular press conferences of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of National Defense. The relevant Chinese authorities would either directly deny it or give vague responses. But in any case, there would be some kind of "result."

However, regarding this news, it has been circulating for a long time, yet no reporters have gone to verify it.....

J 35 along with its whole eco sys will not stationed in Pak.
I beg to differ!

if you want logical answer -

ECOSYSTEM that is available to PAF expeditionary force in of US origin. our force is integrated in it. thats why you have Block 52s deployed. not the JF-17s nor the J-10s.

J-35AE induction with its ecosystem (AEW&C and ELINT/SIGINT Asset and HQ-9BE/HQ19 is only possible only on sovereign territory of Pakistan.

By the way Innocent question?

No.25 Sqn (mirage) of PAF is operational or number platted?
