Bangladesh seeks China’s support in Teesta river restoration project

I think it’s too little too late.

Amount of water BD is likely to get plus the goodies BJP will demand - is not worth sacrificing the barrage.

We need to go full steam ahead with China and build the barrage.

India has had plenty of opportunities to follow basic decency and norm.

India has blown it and now needs to face the consequences.

Hopefully, the slavish US relationship left by the idiot Younus - will not be a barrier to China building the barrage.
Building that barrage is pointless, it's much less expensive to have a water sharing agreement. We can revisit this thread after few years since you commit to the project and see the results.

Barrage is a permanent solution.

Unfortunately, treaty is not permanent, even though it may be cheaper. BJP may sign something today, which will get overturned by Congress in a few years time.

For Bangladesh it is a very critical issue, so a permanent solution is needed irrespective of the cost.

We have desertification in some parts of North Bangladesh. So there is urgency around this.

India uses water resources as a weapon to coerce other countries. India's behavior of controlling water resources to create a humanitarian crisis is inhumane.

I support Bangladesh in managing its water resources, which are a fundamental guarantee for the lives of the Bangladeshi people. Bangladesh should seek all possible ways to solve this problem.

Go ahead and good luck.

The myopia of India, over water sharing, is why India will never be a developed country.

It’s pure Hinduvta myopia.

It’s why Hinduvta has not made a mark beyond the Ganges.

Complete inability to see the big picture.

It’s an ideology rooted in racialism.

And why it is an identity shunned by all other races.

I don't think India will be developed country anytime soon it's a long time away. We got to have at least 20k pci.

Hindutva got nothing to do with it, this is where people get it wrong. Our internal politics shouldn't matter to you, but somehow our neighbours invested so much time and energy even in our local elections.

When it comes to BD or any country you deal with the Indian Foreign Affairs it's mostly run by beurocrats, and Intel agencies. Our policy with regards to our neighbours is continuation of the previous governments. There is no Hindutva or whatever. Get that in your head.

India uses water resources as a weapon to threaten downstream countries of rivers.

India and Bangladesh had a temporary agreement in 1983, but a permanent agreement has never been reached. In 2011, India planned to sign an agreement, but opposition from West Bengal in India prevented the agreement from being finalized. Up until now, India has provided no guarantees to downstream countries of the rivers.

I see an India trying to control Bangladesh. I also see Indians trying to block this project.

If India did not use water resources to threaten downstream countries, if India provided sufficient guarantees to downstream countries of the rivers, this situation would not have happened.

Do you think China has no cards to play to demand India reach a water resources agreement?

Now that China is at the table, you can't just consider the Bangladeshi chips.

I think it's better for India not to give China a reason to use water resources as weapons.

Do you think China has a voice here? Even the US got a better influence over this than China. We will laugh in your face of you make any requests. I'm not even kidding.

There is nothing to talk about with a clown country that has lost its international standing.

If India's power were as strong as the confidence of its people, India would be number one in the universe.

If India can control the water flow to harm China's interests, China can certainly use the same reason to control India's river water from upstream.

Yeah you really think you can control thousands of small streams in Himalayas. Good luck

Bro!

Your politicians spout nonsense about Bangladesh’s internal affairs 24/7.

@LeonBlack08 has made it his hobby to post these videos. You should appreciate his efforts!

Hinduvta even takes Bangladesh’s internal affairs all the way to the White House. Begging Uncle Sam to punish BD.

You lot are obsessed with Bangladesh.

Your buddy @Nilgiri trolled Bangladesh’s GDP for a decade. Writing multi page posts dozens of times a day. You should appreciate his efforts as well.
