Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

Flurry of diplomatic activity has increased alot and trump hasn't attacked.

That tells me he doesn't want to attack and there is another pressure forcing the diplomatic route. Could it be the 30 year treasury bonds, high inflation, becoming a lame duck president after Nov midterms? Is the pressure from allies massively increasing after IAE saying the petroleum strategic reserves for multiple governments in June will hit the red line?

The enigma part of this is trumps narcissistic demands which leave little wiggle room, is he slowly accepting a new reality?

United States President Donald Trump said he was split between a deal with Iran or renewing attacks while Secretary of State Marco Rubio said there was a chance Iran would accept a deal to end the Middle East war as soon as Saturday.

Their comments came as Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Tehran to bolster mediation and Trump abruptly skipped his son’s wedding to stay in Washington due to “circumstances pertaining to government”, fuelling speculation that talks had entered a sensitive stage.

Trump told Axios that he was "50-50" on whether to agree to deal with Iran or resume strikes, adding that he would likely decide by Sunday whether to resume the war.

Trump said it was a "solid 50/50" as to whether he would be able to make a "good" deal or else "blow them to kingdom come".

He said he would be meeting with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner later today to discuss Iran's latest response. Vice President JD Vance is also expected to join.

Meanwhile, multiple Pakistani government sources also told Anadolu that Pakistani, Iranian and Qatari delegations are engaged in intense discussions in Tehran to "finalise" a "temporary" agreement with the US to end the Middle East war, and are expecting a "major breakthrough" by the end of this week.

According to the people familiar with the matter, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff Asim Munir has made telephonic contacts with US mediators, including Vice President JD Vance, "at least twice" over the past 24 hours.

CDF Munir, who arrived in Tehran on Friday evening, for the second time in recent weeks, held meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Tehran's chief negotiator Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss a draft of the potential agreement.

"Pakistani and Qatari delegations are holding consultations with the US and Iranian negotiators to reach consensus [on the interim agreement] between the two warring sides," a source said.

The two sides have not achieved a "final draft" yet, but a "major breakthrough" is expected by the end of this week, the sources maintained.

Several regional countries are also in touch with Pakistani and Qatari officials currently present in Tehran, and are part of ongoing negotiations to reach a consensus document, the sources added.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed that a Qatari delegation is holding talks with Iranian officials, including FM Araghchi, while Pakistan continues to serve as the primary mediator in the negotiations.

The sources added that the current negotiations revolve around Iran's nuclear programme and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz as Washington wants some "concrete and practical" assurances to be part of the interim deal. Tehran, however, insists the two issues be discussed in the second phase of talks after the agreement.

The temporary agreement proposals include an immediate end of war on "all fronts" that includes Lebanon, reopening of the strait, an end to the US blockade of Iranian ports and holding nuclear talks within the next 30 days, the insiders said.

If you read their posts in the Iranian thread it is not difficult to notice the undercurrents full of grudge.

there is still a big suspicious thought that israeli and iranian jewish are working together to destroy entire mideast so israel can takeover.
Hence nobody wants the iranian/irgc to have any sort of nukes or delivery systems. It would be a bigger headache.

Pakistan must be careful as well, and keep its strategic partnerships with the Gulf and KSA.

Iranis are basically turbo charged jeets. Its messed up the kind of neighbours we have
Bro Pakistan was only trying to save its backyard .....

I guess the last attempt of negotiation has gone unsuccessful ...Filed Marshal has retuned with complete silence.

Not a good sign for the region.

do you think that Israel or Bibi or Trump gives a shish about UAE? they (Emirati) thinks that Israel/US is their real friends when they are only using them, UAE will attack Iran in case of war resumes and yes they will be hammered but the real culprit of all this chaos (Israel) will get some minor damage a

If this is a real war, and not just a setup/show for the Wall Street and Trump to make 100s of billions of $$ from market manipulation and speculation, and IF the UAE actually attacks Iran, then Iran will completely destroy the UAE. The Iranians might just eve ignore the USA/Israeli targets and focus only on the UAE.

If Iran destroys the UAE completely, it will actually knock some reality back into the Arabs that the Zionists truly are there sworn enemeis only out to destroy them.

This will also end the Black Market $$ flow out of Pakistan into UAE because the PMLN/PPP like mafias then will not have a neighbour/almost home turf advantage in places like Singapore, and Hong Kong isn't going to become Dubai either.

Can you imagine Dubai looking like Gaza?

As a philosopher once said, "Snitches get stitches."

Those who are getting angry over Araghchi's statement in India. Unfortunately this is how diplomacy works. No matter how bad India had reacted and ignored Iran during the war, still for Iran it will be impossible to cut off relations with India - unless India takes the side of the US/Israel/Zionists just like UAE did. India itself under Modi is not getting along with USA and Iran sees it as an opportunity to have Indian support in world diplomacy which India will also reciprocate in its own way.

As for Iran-Pakistan, I believe after what Pakistan is doing in its efforts to end the war between US and Iran, Iran sees and understands all this and therefore will not dare to cross Pakistan again. This peace deal if it materializes will be a huge favor by Pakistan which Iran owes to us.

One thing is clear: the US's globalist stance is nearing its natural end. Strangely, the US's sole Super Power status passed through Pakistan, and it's end is being negotiated through Pakistan! What an achievement within the span of 35 years....

Pakistan is the "Pied Piper" of making or breaking the Super Powers.....

9-11 induced WOT was the first stone thrown toward the US's military/strategic decay. Only if they - being blinded with Iblis-like audacity, egoism, and hubris - knew Pakistan.....
