Racist attacks leave New Zealand's Indian community feeling 'hounded'

I find it hilarious how Pakistani members want to claim that Indians are denigrating/invading foreign lands and yet the population, power and prosperity of Indian migrants keeps rising. They wish for Indians to fail but don't have the gusto to put their heads down and work hard. Indians on the other hand will work incredibly hard and continue to improve their lives. Cultural differences (from prevalent population groups) aside, Indians have done a terrific job integrating with broad parts of the society and frankly it shows. Indians now have some of the high ranking positions in US govt. , former UK PM is of Indian origin etc etc. This is the part most sophisticated Pakistanis hate about India and Indians - how can they be successful, must be cunning, cheating or something else. They forget that broader world is not naive to be taken for a ride...

The fact you find it hilarious is hilarious itself considering it's the right-wing who are stating this time and time again, and you're failing to read the room. It's not Pakistani's 'claiming' anything.

Your Indian Sunak was not elected by us British Public he was put in the job as last minute standby after the fall of Liz Truss by Tory MPs fixed it so he would face no opposition to his appointment as a leader 😃 when he stood for General election the English electorate kicked him out of his job even though they hated Labour Party.

Sure. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. But data and data driven insights are for all to process and understand. Try as hard, Indian migrants are the top earners among migrant communities in most (if not all) countries. They also have highest level of education and have been integrating with the local population (even before India's independence in many cases). Rest is all anecdotal mud-slinging - indulge all you want doesn't change on-ground reality.

Again - all of this is your view and debatable. The fact is that he was a PM, of Indian origin. A country which ruled India in 1947 was being headed by a person of origin from that very country. Most former colonies will see that as progress/achievement.

Indian Sunak was not even elected by us Brits.

He came 2nd to Liz Truss and became a PM by default when she resigned after seven weeks.

If you pick up the upper echelons of developing nations they all succeed and there's plenty of data on this. Now India has the biggest population on the planet and will therefore have more such folks in this category. Now combine that with a traditional hardworking ethos, which is ingrained in Indians they will succeed.
But that's not what is being discussed here. The right-wing are talking about numbers coming over and economic replacement. It doesn't matter how great your merits are they simply state that you need to that in your own land, not theirs. As for integration they are not interested, race and faith are the bar here, and you only need to look at surge in anti Indian hate, even to those who are third generation to see how that illusion is shattered.
It's easy to dismiss it all as mud slinging, and taking your own words here, ignoring the reality.

He lost what was essentially called the 'loser race'. Liz was one of the worst PM's in history yet he lost to her, which says a great deal.
After which the conservative supporters abandoned him on mass losing him the election.

Sunak is like us, and did eventually read the room i.e. generations down, you can't expect the ones who ran from India who debate us on here to even have the slightest idea of this.

Brother Indian is an illusion cracking under the surface. Bollywood and media has brainwashed most Indians. 800 million Indians need food assistance from the government??? Cripes that’s 57% of India’s population!!!

On your upper echelons succeeding and large numbers -> we are talking about averages here.

On the right wing - that is true for any group, the hard-line right wingers will indulge in such behavior in every country. I say its par for the course. Most folks who leave their country are resilient and I don't think this being a big issue - some ups and downs as is supposed to happen.

Sadiq khan London mayor has won and been elected 3 times .

Not like unelected Indian Rishi 2nd pick by default

Ifs and Buts... doesn't change that he was the PM - by default or not. And please don't compare mayor of a city with a PM (apples and oranges)

It's only the ones with the two M's, money and means who get here. They will do well.

You don't understand the hard right are not just a group and it's not going down anytime soon. They are fast becoming the majority and yes, that effects us all.

To be fair bro at least they do that. What the hell is Pakistan doing? But anyway, another topic.
