Breaking: First F-47 Sixth-Gen Fighter Already Being Built, Expected to Fly in 2028

Nope
Manufacturing is fine but the issue is bean counters screwing up the scale and certain rubber stamped standards
I wouldn't say its fine, considering by all metrics they've fallen behind a lot.

They're already at full capacity, and having difficulty replacing their current losses in the Iran war.

It doesn't help that leadership is extremely incompetent

Not really
You simply cannot fudge losses - the frikkin system is so logged that eventually someone will catch it.

But a lot of casualties are the heavies sitting at airports because they truly have no shelter.

That being said - its not a materials or knowhow issue its a scale issue.

Years of relying on Japanese, Taiwanese and even Chinese for automation enablers coupled with profit focused practices have left shortcuts in skills and standards.

For e.g the $17000 paper holder in the C-17 while trash and tools are left inside KC-46s.

Boeing is the biggest mess - then comes LM and then NG - it all comes down to management teams which can leave lasting impacts on company culture.

An agile team at DARPA can collaborate with one at Phantom works to create a plane 50 years ahead - and maybe build a prototype.

But you cannot have tenured double masters or PHD engineers building airplanes on the line - that is where the issue is coming

Interesting, F-47 Phoenix please

6th gen platforms cannot have canards. This looks like a clone of the j20…

China uses the special split rudders made by the smart skin to stabilize the tailless feature of the J-36 and J-50.

The US doesn't seem to have mastered this technology incorporating with the split rudders seamlessly like China is doing right now.

Therefore, they are attempting to use the canards to stabilize the tailless feature of the 6th gen aircraft.

:O How DARE YOU go against the axiomatic assumption the US military aviation stays ahead of the rest of the world!

Seriously though, it is fucking awesome if this is indeed the F-47. Hopefully detailed photos come out and everyone can see the canards in full in 2028.

A subsonic B-2/B-21 can be tailless without canards, but an aircraft that can fly over Mach 2 gonna be a different story.

A pair of canards might be less stealthy than the one without it, but it is a better trade off for them if they can stabilize a tailless aircraft that can fly over March 2.

The so-called European 6th gen aircrafts aren't even attempting to remove the vertical stabilizers. Therefore, these aircrafts are going to be de facto 5++ gen aircrafts.

F-47 incorporating AAW canards would represent a significant leap in flight control, aerodynamic efficiency, and RCS reduction compared to J-36 split rudder control.

J-36 would be crushed by F-47s maneuverability

Patch has a Bird of Prey look to it. I really hope it's much bigger version of the Bird of Prey.

2028 is a pipedream. That's nowhere close to reality.

The US mastered it in 1946 with the XB-35
Then fully fbw version with the B-2 in 1989
Then did the complete tailess high agility bit with seperate split surfaces in 1997.

You’re just too late with internet access in china to even have knowledge of when the US was done with proving these technologies in designs AND already moving on.

80 year old technology.

This is hilarious. Canards were once seen as a backward fourth-generation fighter technology, and the J-20 was mocked by Europe and the United States for years because it used a canard layout. Now the United States has turned around and is learning from China by adopting canards on its most advanced sixth-generation fighter.

Absolutely fascinating. Let’s see how Americans slap themselves in the face and prove just how excellent canards really are.

The shoe is on the other foot, so suddenly canards become super cool. tailless like J-36 and J-50 become so backward a design.

The Americans’ rhetoric is like wind pasted onto their mouths: they blow whichever way they want. After they’re done, a bunch of bootlickers join in the noise

Let’s wait and see which country will be the first to jump out and play the bootlicker — a European country, or a Muslim country in the Middle East. Let’s wait and watch.
