Yes same as China, Vietnam had gone thru a century of humiliation at the hands of western powers.
It was bitter sweet that Vietnam with the help of China decisively defeated the French colonizer army at the Battle of Điện Biên Phủ and eventually kicked them out the country after a century fooling around in SEA. But too bad, then the Western whites just couldn't accept their defeat in battles, the Yanks tried again to fight Vietnam and eventually China too since they couldn't swallow their defeat in the Korean war either. They were beaten after 10 years. The pattern of the European colonizers is the same everywhere say like in North America, on their left hands they hand out Bibles to the natives and on their right hands they hold guns and take away the lands from the natives.
Hoa Phat is probably one of the top 2 or 3 biggest private companies of Viet Nam, it is doing very well for both its shareholders and the construction industry. But Hoa Phat is basically a construction steel company; it has no R&D to research into high-strength steel that can be used for other civilian industries (like diesel engine) or military applications. I would not worry too much. That’s business risk every company must bear. No company knows in advance if anyone will buy their products they make.
