Xi Jinping will make a state visit to NK, and before his visit, NK suddenly announces that they are going to build 10,000 tons class super destroyer, maybe the pack of deal also includes the nuclear submarine technology, but they just cannot openly announce it.

If China has made the commitment to NK, then a similar one should be made for Pakistan, as NK is China eastern flank, and Pakistan is the western flank.

NK have a lot of MLRS, Nuclear weapons, artillery, and missiles. It's good to go. Even if it don't get the nuclear submarines it is still good to go because nobody will touch it due to the nuclear weapons and 10000 km range missiles.

But the same is not the case with other Chinese allies, alot of whom have already fallen. They didn't had nuclear weapons to scare the west away. So they were attacked and brought under control. If Europe joins the attacks against Iran today, Iran will loose in a month. That's the reality. And the world doesn't see china helping at all.

It is a Bad PR for china, is all I am saying.

NK has no funding for large number of superclass destroyers, SSBN and SSN, at least according to UN accounting.

Yeah. probably China is going to deploy about 100 attack subs with about 50 SSN and about 15 type 096 and 094 SSBN.

Maybe 60 large SSN, 20 SSGN, 20 SSBN.

And all conventional subs gonna be replaced by the 4000-5000 tons AIP/nuclear battery hybrid subs.

Possibly. Because for a country like China, 2800 ton Submarines doesn't make much sense. China need to just start from 4000 tons. Such submarines will not only have the range but alot of weaponry as well, in comparison to 2800-3000 ton submarines.

It's hard to say. I think the sailless represents the next generation after 095 and 096 which were developed during the last decade. The sailless design occurred concurrently but they are too unconventional and unproven so 095 still uses sail.

Similar to J-35 and J-50. If you imagine the sailless is represented by J-50, J-35 are just reaching service while J-50 is being tested. What we're seeing with the sailless may just be first trials units where 095 at this stage is reaching service representing a much higher degree of design maturity compared to 09X.

Meanwhile there are at least 18 to 20 09III class submariners in active service as China's second generation SSN. The latest 09III is already pretty damn good making use of many later technologies barring X tail and pump jet which 09V and beyond use.

Well, Pakistan got ICBM along with the nuclear subs, then the US can totally forget about a military operation or regime change.

Possibly. Because for a country like China, 2800 ton Submarines doesn't make much sense. China need to just start from 4000 tons. Such submarines will not only have the range but alot of weaponry as well, in comparison to 2800-3000 ton submarines.

China has lots of shallow coastal waters, therefore China previously deployed those conventional submarines to defend its coastal waters as the larger nuclear subs could be easily spotted.

For now, China will still deploy a large number of subs to defend its coastal waters, but the larger Type 041 hybrid subs and unmanned subs will become more favorable than those conventional subs.

The Type 09X is currently connecting to the onshore steam plant for testing its steam turbines for couple months before activating its nuclear reactor.

I think we may soon see the second boat of its class.
