Who are we kidding? Even if Iran develops ICBMs with nuclear warheads, Iran can never nuke the US.

But having nukes does enable Iran to sink the USN without turning into glass.

The guy doesn't know about the concept of "escalation ladder." Right now, we are limited because we cannot bring the same kind of destruction into the USA mainland if the USA decides to go all out ...

Without US offensive firepower support, Israel cannot attack Iran on its own for more than 1.5-2 weeks.

Iran, despite having its missiles intercepted right now, can go on much longer.

If the US does not get involved on the offensive side of the war (I’m sure it is already supporting/shoring Israel’s defences), I expect this skirmish/chapter to end in 1-2 weeks.

If the US gets involved offensively, then the ceasefire ends; and we’re in for another protracted war lasting months.

I think he does, your suggestion that Iran should nuke Washington is absurd because Iran can never win a nuclear war with the US. The US will easily win that war fair and square.

But nuclear deterrence does give Iran the ability to destroy the USN around us in the 3,000 km radius.

The problem is that Iranian attacks don't bite as they should. Israeli attacks do bite, but ours don't. They are mostly done for propaganda purposes than actual tactical victories.

We have the theoretical capability to unleash hell on Israel but our lack of nuclear deterrence limits our options when shit hits the fan.

Not at all. That's a very childish view of nuclear warfare.

Nuclear warfare is exactly like conventional warfare. All rules of fire power still apply in nuclear warfare, the only difference is that casualties will be thousand folds.

The US has spent 8 decades to match their nuclear fire power against a bigger adversary like Russia. It will take Iran half a century to even get remotely close to the capability that is required for assuring partial MAD against the US, and that's super optimistic because if Iran excels at uranium enrichment and plutonium reprocessing, Iran does not have access to enough uranium reserves around the world to even get there.

Just because you have nuked Washington DC doesn't mean that you have won anything or they have lost it all. If anything, the war will start just after that.

Iran's ground forces are sitting ducks for US/Israel + GCC air forces if they come out in open, there is no way they can mount any offense without neutralizing the said air forces.

Once you walk into Erbil/ AL-Assad/ Kuwait airfield, you're left with Bahrain/ Dhafra and maybe AL-Udeid/ AL-Salim, which can all be heavily attacked too. Most are already damaged and can support limited ops. Take out their water/ power and desroy any support facilities and they become unusable.

Iran can then move in its AD into the GCC gradually.

It can all be done in phases.
