That does mean that Iran was targeting the Apache, not the other way around.

I'm convinced Iran intentionally downed it. The alternative theory of some accidental hit that Iran didn't even know about is just too illogical.

That Iran has NOT yet admitted to it (when plenty have rightly pointed out that usually they own their victories without fail) is simple and rather cunning informational strategy from them. They should remain as unpredictable as possible, as that (a) gives them a genuine edge in military terms, and (b) keeps oil prices high.

But to do this the very next day after another "ceasefire" with Israel means the Iranians have realized the US/Israel have put them in a box with the blockade and constant hit and run attacks. The Trump/Netanyahu calculation is that eventually Iran will bleed out in a few months. So I think the Iranians are now actively provoking and attacking in turn, trying to break this box. It's a risky strategy.

Someone did yesterday post an interesting flight route from Abu Dhabi to Iran.

Also the apache news, they mentioned a drone which operates out of Bahrain rescued the crew. The apache likely operating out of Bahrain, UAE. If the US attacks, both of them are in for a pummeling.
