Here's how dumb they are. They believe giving their kid some made up name is somehow linking them to their African heritage. In that case, why not name them some like Kiragu or Waseera or Mwangi and then also given them an Anglicized name?

By the way, the names I listed are indeed real. Those are the Swahili names of some very good friends of mine.

Just like, and it's a true story, some woman years ago ordered a personalized license plate here in AZ. The plate was "SMEGMA".

Back in the days when I was a supervisor at Qualcomm in charge of hiring I would go through dozens of applications a week and would discard the ones with names like Davante, Tamika, jeyvan, ect ect.... I wasn't taking any chances interviewing these people and filling a quota.

it is illegal to discriminate like that in hiring and to just toss Ebony sounding names into the dustbin. It's tough to prove in court but you may still get into trouble one day.
