India’s long submarine journey: What went wrong and the plan ahead

Those so called vassal states would tear through eastern China's industrial heartland with coordinated strikes. And if the PLA thinks it can simply fall back into Tibet and Xinjiang, it may find that retreat offers no sanctuary only an Indian military waiting to turn a withdrawal into a rout and make mincemeat of exhausted formations

The problem is that they cannot do what Ukraine has done to Russia to China because China controls the entire drone supply chain and rare earth.

They can go to embrace the stone aged lifestyle if they ever take a try.

There hangoor are not some technological undersea marvel, except little bit of more endurance they provide nothing. They are slow, has inferior senors & equipment & are quite loud even by modern SSK standards, louder than Kalvari class & close to upgraded kilo in our inventory.

Wow. The overconfidence was seen in Rafales as well. We all know how that ended.

I am just glad to see Indians hers overestimating their equipments and underestimating ours. Hope such overconfidence are found in the Indian military planners as well.

Of course, they are lifelong gambler, and yet hesitating because of fear.

Japan was a developed country when China was still a back water economy.

The only reason they don't go nuclear, is because being the only country having lived through nuclear holocaust, they understand its consequences.

Japenese are extremely hard working, highly commited race.

If it comes to their survival they will rip you guy apart, like they have done in the past.

Japan will soon go back as a developing country with its unprecedented currency crisis.

And chibese economy is crashing with many old people. Your point?

1. AI automation
2. China is already dealing with the radical feminism who chooses to subvert the traditional family values

However, Japan is a lapdog for the US, they cannot say no to the western sponsored radical feminism, and still needs to sit idly by letting the US bleeding them to dry.

China was just moving its unused production capacity for the Type 039B/C to Pakistan as China was deciding to move into full nuclear sub fleet since the late 2010s/early 2020s.

China could also move its unused production capacity for the Type 093B to Pakistan when the Type 095 and Type 09X are available in large number.

China has the capacity to build Type 1,2,3,4,5 but from where are you going to get trained people for it ? it will take time, even with all those Types are large vessels the only reason China doesn't ventures outside of Chinese Sea is its ill-trained sailors and their inexperience which will make them laughing stock infront of others. Due to large and quick inductions unlike Army, Navy struggles with trained & experienced manpower and that's the reason send small well trained batch for long patrols outside Chinese Sea.

Even Japan doesn't dare to go nuclear, just forget about Taiwan.

Lol.. Are you saying Japan does not go nuclear because they fear China?

Of course, they are lifelong gambler, and yet hesitating because of fear.

Japan's JDF knows that they can tame Chinese PLA force with their present capability and the day they feel threatened they will start with moving from Defensive to Offensive force and then to Nuclear.

China also doesn't want that to happen because they know the day Japan go towards Nuclear, Korea, Australia will also go Nuclear.

for past 30 years IN's submarine procurement is quite outrageous, but it seems if everything's goes as planned, from 2030 onwards IN will be inducting indigenous SSK, SSN & SSBN's simultaneously. this will be over the planned purchase of P-75 & P-75Is.

China has 50-60 conventional submarines where a lot of sailors can now operate the nuclear submarines instead.

China's new nuclear submarines are also highly automated that requires far less crew personnel than the traditional nuclear submarines.

Only China possesses the competence, and the modern Japanese have become highly incompetent just like their western masters.

Just say that to yourself, where you can hire all those experienced sailors when you currently operate a far smaller number submarines and conventional submarines.

"Will be"

Ah, that old statement that props up every batshit argument from Indians on here....

According to a May 2026 investigation by Drop Site News, Pakistan reportedly asked China for assistance in acquiring a nuclear second-strike capability during bilateral talks over a potential Chinese military base at Gwadar. China declined the request, citing its own non-proliferation commitments and the strategic risk such a transfer would pose to Beijing.

Pakistan already has sub based second strike, but it based on the Babur 3 SLCM

Pakistan now wants a nuclear capable sub which can fire a nuclear capable SLMB

I will be honest with you, it's only a matter of time

4 of the hangor subs are being built in Pakistan, it's a large sub and the basis of a future programme
