Old Man's Corners

I've stop giving a crap about the Padres once they started their predictable decline I just wished they didn't go on that run where at one time in the season had the best record in MLB giving even me a maybe hope when I should have known better. They added no salary during offseason and two starting pitches, one in week 4, got put on IR and well this is the results...

Padres are nowhere near wildcard contention but I guess this was always going to be a throw away season because of the sale of the team. Next year they really need to do something about Machado and Bogaerts maybe eat the contract by cutting them end of this season they have become pretty useless for the Padres. Jackson Merril is having a really bad year but he's young and hopefully not a sign of what's to come of him.

Damn dodgers are running away with the division

Sorry to hear that, bro'. Losing an animal is tough. Especially a little one that only wanted a chance.
When Buddy and I returned from our walk across town, up on a table was Midnight. He's blind, that's for sure.

Fed him. Watched how he is getting around. This is why I like this kitten, the will to live.

Not going to have Animal Control put him down, yet. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort.

94°F, 104°F heat index. Air conditioner still hasn't been taken out of the box.

Spent the day sleeping with Midnight. Got up to take a piss, Midnight followed me and took one too in the litter box. We are back in bed, don't have to work until Midnight.

Midnight is going to be a good one. By fall, if he is still around, he can join me and the other cats walking around town.

Wouldn't that be a hoot! Walking a blind cat around the block.

Found the 7# bag of cat food. The critter who stole it off the front porch tried, unsuccessfully, to drag the bag underneath the house. Thinking it may be an opossum, because the cats don't seem too bothered.

Here in east Chula Vista it's going to be scorcher too. Just dreading life right now.

Unbelievable....

Was walking to the laundry mat with a load and this pickup truck comes barreling down the street at almost twice the speed limit just an hour ago.

Hit Midnight. I dropped my laundry and made the guy stop. Told him what he just did. He pulled a gun on me.

Police told me the plate number I gave did not match a pick up truck, and was from 150 miles from here.

Midnight is "ok". Officer told me it looks like Midnight also got hit earlier this week which caused him to be blind in the first place.

Amusing when the officer asked me where the other three cats are. Pointed to each one and he agreed my cats are very well mannered.

Will have put Midnight on eight months house confinement, like I did with all the others, before I started training them to walk with me.

This idiot is about to find out my street is under heavy video surveillance.

Officer knows where I work. Told him to stop by if he needs me to fill out a statement later tonight. Right now he is at the police station looking at videos.

Use to have a one eyed kitten I saved about seven years ago.

He turned out to be the best hunter and thrilled the neighbors with his character.

Then the two lesbians nextdoor stole him from me.

I see the same potential with Midnight. Right now he is inside on my favorite chair, waiting for me. Did this on his own. He will do fine indoors, as long as I do not move the furniture around. Uses the litter box. Knows where the food and water bowls are.

Very intelligent for a six week old kitten.

Found the critter, a 20lb armadillo now living under my house. I will have a talk with him tomorrow morning after I get off work.

Finally got a decent photo of his eyes. Right one basically gone, will need taken out. The other one looks like, maybe 20% sight left.

Midnight went from the top of the couch over to my chair and hopped up on my lap.

Would love to keep him, but I am at the limit for my town.

Anyone interested, here is a very good cat.

Took a run down to PHX today. On the way back, made a brief stop at the truck stop in Cordes Junction to get this photo:

That is the fire that is burning north of Sedona. Where I was standing would put it about 60 miles away.

Currently 0% contained per my son-in-law who is a fire fighter. Slurry tankers are flying non-stop over my house to fight the fire during the daylight hours.
