What Happened To The 56 Signatories Of The Declaration Of Independence

Do we know anything about their descendants today? Do they for instance have any paternal ancestors today or any senior representatives?

Interesting that almost all of them were British/English in origin with 8 of them born in the UK/Ireland.

Texas and the Deep South are on my bucket list for the next time I visit the US. Unfortunately, I have only been to Florida in the immediate neighborhood, but that is its own "thing" and is quite different from the Deep South and the rest of the US, let alone Texas. I have "only" visited the western US (mostly California, where I was based for the longest time) extensively, as well as the East Coast (mostly New York State and the neighboring states).

But I think it will be difficult to top Wyoming, Washington, and California in terms of nature and landscapes. It is difficult to top Florida's beaches as well, for instance.

Hawaii is on my bucket list as well. I visited French Polynesia for my honeymoon, but Hawaii is quite unique because of its topography, its population size, the size of its islands, and the fact that it is part of the US.

In short, very few countries can compete with the US when it comes to natural beauty and diversity. If you add Alaska to the mix (another destination I would love to visit), it gets even better.

As usual, the problem is time, family obligations, professional commitments, etc. Otherwise, I would have tried to explore all 50 states by taking six to twelve months off and just going for it.

I stayed in Kona and drove around the Big Island in complete serenity and awe . I suggest moving it to the top of your bucket list. Honolulu is nice too but driving around Oahu is annoying because there is too much traffic on the roads.

I think this was a spur of the moment thing they did, during a training flight. Nice of them.

It's pretty good. But they could have had the common courtesy to blast Wagner from a loudspeaker during this beachfront fly past.

Latest updates most likely from Mozilla have resulted in Twitter videos being broke on my desktop. Am being prompted to log into Twitter to view.

Some of the drone shows others sent me links to last night were outstanding. Am beginning to wonder now if fireworks will start to go the way of the dodo.

Speaking of the weather, I hear that the humidity in the Deep South during the summer months is absolutely brutal.

Texas, Southern California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, etc. are very much like much of KSA during the summer. It is the humidity combined with the high temperatures that is the real killer. Dry heat is much more tolerable.

Speaking of US weather, another thing I have noticed is that places like NYC can be 25 degrees Celsius one day during the winter and below freezing with snow the next. Crazy stuff.

Speaking of extremes and diversity, many people might not be aware of this, but the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth was measured in Death Valley, California. Not anywhere else. In California alone, the difference between the highest and lowest recorded temperatures is nearly 100 degrees Celcius!
Some of the worst heat AND humidity I've experienced has been in Texas. Dallas and Houston are neck-in-neck for the top title.

Atlanta can be bad.

I've been in Palm Springs when it was 126F.

My oldest spawn had to spend some time up at Point Barrow a few years ago. She works for the real #BLM. It was -55F. When she got back down to ANC and took her dog for a walk, it was +25F. She was wearing shorts. Her neighbors thought she was insane. Until she told them she had just come back from visiting one of the tribes up there.

I had the best 4th of July in a decade I had the house to myself until 11pm when the youngest and gf came home. I truly rested on the 4th and didn't get heat stroke.

4th of July celebration goes horribly wrong as fireworks shot into crowd at Angel City show

A Fourth of July weekend celebration turned into a fiery nightmare when fireworks went screaming into the stands at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles — sending panicked fans scrambling for cover.

Just minutes after Angel City defeated the Orlando Pride 2-0, the club’s Independence Day weekend pyrotechnics display reportedly went haywire.

Instead of launching into the sky, multiple mortars allegedly fired sideways across the field and toward packed seating sections.

“The end is actually the worst. I saw several flames go into the crowd. It was terrifying!” one shaken Reddit user wrote.

Another fan said the experience was still haunting them hours later.

“2 hours later and I’m still shaking. The dad next to me dove to cover his kids. super scary and will have ptsd hearing fireworks in the future.”

A Delta Air Lines aircraft was struck by a firework while landing at Chicago Midway International Airport on July 4, according to air traffic control audio shared online.

A spokesperson for Delta told Newsweek the aircraft landed safely and there was no emergency landing. The airline said the plane was taken out of normal operations for inspection after arriving at the gate. Initial reports did not indicate any injuries among passengers or crew.
