Cargo plane crashed off Karachi coast

I just remembered, and not to drag the thread OT, one of the commercial fire fighting companies that provides air tanker support to the US Forest Service still operates the DC-9. There is one currently operating out of Prescott Airport in support of the fire north of Sedona, AZ.

DC 9 is a simple and rugged airplane , easy to maintain and easy to repair even by a semi trained mechanic .

Very sad news.

Cannot rule out the possibility of a targeted strike either. The debris field can indicate more.

A loss of navigational aids shouldn't mean the aircraft goes down, unless the. pilot deviated from training greatly.

Catastrophic control surface failure, inadvertent pilot actions in light of the jamming, could be anything. Considering the slow speed and night time, a stall due to loss of situational awareness could very well be a possibility too.

I wold not trust the ADS-B data too much considering all the jamming going on. But those tracks are crazy!

a little bit of a reminder of AF447 in the atlantic.......hope this isn't one of that!

i sure hope it wasn't a missile strike or something that brought this plane down. Or israel/west tryin to send a msg.....

Full investigation needed and i hope they can find the wreckage and black boxes!

Bet me it could be cause of structural disintegration of horizontal stabilizer, rate of coming down and speed "If true" all suggested same thing.

Could be, hopefully we get a proper investigation. Would be interesting to know what maintenance was done on the aircraft and if stabs or jackscrew were one of the parts worked on.

The pilots getting disoriented due to night time and jamming can be a possibility. They can get a terrain warning, instrument disagreement, bad CRM, climb up, stall...

That's why an investigation is important.

sorry but did you hear or read any type of explanations of such incident in Pakistan or even in ASIA.

Well we did get somewhat of a report in the case of the Airblue and I believe PIA flights as well.

And in Asia too.

The challenge here is the deep sea environment, and possibly large debris field.

Is it the same time when US launched attacks on Iranian sites ? they are saying that pilots suddenly started facing navigation issues ? some kind of active jamming happening that time due to US strikes ? If the problem happened right after taking off from Sharjah then pilots would had landed back to the airport immediately but looks like problem happened in middle of the route.

And I am pretty sure Pakistani authorities will be too shy and reluctant to take Americans name here since it may effect so called field marshall's ongoing harmony with Trump.
