I wonder what our resident rules exspurt has to say? When football pundits like Henry and Slatan say this was a travesty of justice - the n i can confidently say Egypt were cheated. Utter disgusting refereeing

3 referees in yesterday's match Egypt vs Argentina were French.
And now all the 5 officials will be from Argentina for the QF match in between Morroco and France.

Personally, I need a bit of a break. Have an upcoming trip starting next week. I'm well along with preparations. Last of key items will be packed today. No games todayHow will I live ?
Not sure if that's true
That support group I suggested could be a good one membership-wise.Some of the cope on this thread is getting silly.
There is a case the referees need to answer for but hyperbole really doesn't help Egypt's cause.
World football is in a farcical state at present. No denying that. Take the Afcon final as a lead example. Then there was the whole Balogun issue just now.
Despite all of that being the case, one only needs look at the game stats to see that Argentina were piling the pressure onto Egypt because of poor game management by Egypt.
Had Argentina not scored 1 or even 2 controversial goals, who here can say with absolute sincerity that Egypt were: (a) the better team on the day and/or (b) still likely to win? I don't think either of those criteria would have held true.

Read an article last night that FIFA had suspended two US officials just prior to the Belgium match. Reason was not disclosed.
