Pakistan International Arlines (PIA) : News / Updates

PIA needs Newer Widebodies like the A350 or the B787s

Also need maybe A321s for regional routes to increase capacity

UK and European network expansion needed as well as more destinations in North America. Increase Toronto to daily B777 service

Imo PIA should begin with running their current operations efficiently and with integrity. That would be much better than spending hundreds of millions on new jets. I think PIA already has some 777s in storage? (fact check needed)

The flight to Toronto is mostly on time in my experience - because the penalties/stakes are higher here?

PIA could benefit significantly from just running efficient and reliable direct flight operations to large diasporas like NYC, Houstan, Manchester etc.

Correct, currently only 6 out of 12 B777s are operational. The other 6 if brought back to life can add to capacity. However, newer jets can mean a savings on fuel/efficiency if it inducts newer widebodies.

I'm sure they can turn it around once they get the entire fleet operational.
Nothing beats a direct flight rather than connecting in europe or middle east.

Agreed.

I'm not familiar with the economics of airliners as much but refurbishing some may be an acceptable compromise too. Leasing can also be a favorable option.
