US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

President Donald Trump formally notified members of Congress that the United States has resumed military action in Iran, reigniting a debate on whether his actions are legal because he has not yet sought congressional approval.

Trump sent a letter to members of Congress on July 10 informing them that “military action commenced” in the area, a White House official confirmed to the Deseret News. That notification falls in line with the War Powers Act that mandates the president inform lawmakers within 48 hours of launching a military attack.

But it raises questions about whether Trump can continue taking action in the area without Congress first weighing in.
How many debates on legality does Congress need to have? 3, 6, 10? They already failed to pass 2(?) resolutions blocking military action. Congress is in full support of this war as are the 77 million Americans who voted for Trump.

and pretty clear the US launching 100+ bombs at Iran a day isn't working and having zero deterrence effect on Iranian forces?
You folks are singing the blues in the bathroom and ' catch me if you can ' in the drawing room,...you were given face savings and you took them as weakness.....and now , unconditional surrender is the only option left for you.

I believe I've posted before that of course Congress is on board. They are making money hand over fist with this.

No, those were different sites. Natanz and Fordow.

This one is about 200 meters under the Pick Axe Mountain. Twice deeper than Fordow, and about 5-10 times deeper than Natanz.

And considering the limited impact of GBU-57s on Fordow, I think it's safe to assume that this one is even less vulnerable.
If it has an opening that has been detected then it's pretty vulnerable.

Meanwhile, is back channel dialogue via Pakistan still taking place or has that been shut down in its entirety?
FM muneer is on a two day official visit to Turkey...I don't think there's any other topic to discuss other than Iran ..... anyway , right now the focus is preventing the conflict from widening to other countries.

Senate for 1st time approves war powers resolution to halt Iran conflict

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate for the first time approved a war powers resolution Tuesday seeking to block U.S. military action against Iran, as lawmakers warily watch President Donald Trump's efforts to resolve a conflict that the administration launched on its own and now needs Congress to fund.

It was the 10th time the Senate has tried to stop the war, and the outcome, on a vote of 50-48, was a stunning turnaround from past efforts. While the resolution is largely symbolic, and does not fully carry the force of law, it reflects the growing concerns from a number of Republican lawmakers in both the House and Senate over both the war and the deal Trump struck with Iran to end it. The House approved the resolution earlier this month.

Not just the 77 million, but even more, given that Iran has not exactly endeared itself to the US voting public for the last half century.

That is why I keep saying that those who claim the winds are changing in favor of Iran, and against Israel, because of mere twitterstorms are mistaken, but most do not like hearing that at all, to the point of resorting to personal attacks, and encouraged by management.

Not that I am given to predicting the future, but I will caution not to be surprised if a consensus gels at resolving the matter once and for all, with widespread public support.

A bit too late considering GCC and other states are being hit.

Perhaps trying to keep both Turkiye and Pakistan out of it?
