I thought a valid NADRA card for British Pakistani was always a requirement.

Sir as I explained before you could travel to Pakistan on an expired NICOP, but that rule is now thankfully changed. Good work by FIA.

The ministers and their spawns would have a coronary. Rehman Malik used to boast about always carrying a British Passport. If dual nationality is to be abolished our "honorable" lawmakers should lead by example.

While Section 14(1) prohibits dual nationality, Section 14(3) provides an exception allowing Pakistani citizens to acquire the nationality of the United Kingdom and Colonies and of countries specified by the Federal Government through notification in the official Gazette.

100% correct. Dual nationality is being exploited by various mechanisms and by various parties, all to the detriment of Pakistan. I am happy to jump through 10 additional administrative hoops to visit Pakistan in view of this sad reality.

If u go on reddit, in the “overseas pakistani” sub, there’s tons of examples and posts from people almost every week who “need to travel to Pak” all of a sudden due to “emergency” and found their Pakistani ID cards or passports have long expired……then they rush the neatest embassy/consulate staff for something that was entirely preventable!!

While they always have a VALID foreign passport and always kept it valid and ignored the Pakistani ID/cnic/nicop……

Its going to be fun for them. At least thankfully due to our exposure and experiences (my father used to deal with this when posted abroad) I’ve made sure our family maintains valid travel docs all the time.

Its an unnecessary added expense but we even maintain valid PAK Passports in addition to nicops (expiry dates overlap). Learned during covid that having 2 passports is better than 1 (yes even if its not “powerful”)!

I do like the new Pakistani e-passport (chip wala passpot”) instead of the bad-looking MRP. Lol

It would be alot of trouble if dual nationality was scrapped by Pak. For many it would be crazy as it can affect travel plans, jobs, etc so I hope that can stay as is.

And who "protest" in support? The nature of protest is that it is against someone or something or some actions. Ye to wohe baat hue aik mufti se kisi ne pacha ghussy me di hue talaaq ho jati hy ? To unho ne jawab Dia bhai kon banda talaaq mohabbat or khushi me aaky deta hy ?

Common sense is a luxury when it come to pakistan and pakistanis. It should be taxed as a luxury item in next budget.
