That is why many were surprised when, in 2020, he announced a partnership with OrCam, a relatively small Israeli A.I. firm that makes wearable artificial vision devices (similar to Google Glass). OrCam markets itself as helping visually impaired people live more fulfilling lives. Messi became its global brand ambassador and the face of the company.

More controversially, however, OrCam is an outgrowth of the Israeli national security state, employing dozens of former agents of Israeli military spying agency, Unit 8200, many in highly influential positions. Chief among these is Adi Levitski, a longtime intelligence officer with Unit 8200, who, in 2024, was appointed director of operations at OrCam.

Many OrCam staff were commanders in the shadowy spy agency, responsible for some of the worst crimes of the post-October 7 2023 war, as well as many of the most scandalous international hacking and surveillance operations. Mor Shamy, for example, rose to become head of intelligence analysis at Unit 8200 by 2015, and would later be hired as an algorithm developer at OrCam. Working alongside him was Matan Albeck, the former head of Unit 8200’s data analysis department.

Using big data collected by its massive digital Palestinian dragnet, the organization created massive A.I.-generated kill lists of Gazans, and carried out tens of thousands of drone bombing operations that was the centerpiece of the destruction in Gaza.

Messi's wife looks indian in the above picture. Didn't realise who was going the bud bud ding ding way.

Messi has messed up big fuk*n time, he’ll end up a big disgrace and disgusting Zio when he retires.

I’m rooting for Spain harder than ever.; Viva Espania 🇪🇸 🇪🇸 🇪🇸

@Aziqbal

England should have been playing Egypt

Egypt shouldn't have been in R32, let alone R16. A goal by Iran was disgracefully disallowed by cheating FIFA VAR. The goal should have stood and EGY knocked out of the WC and braveheart Iran stride into R32. The Egyptians should be ashamed of themselves.

Regards
Your post shows either you are high as a kite or just peddling nonsense...........

Spain 2010 v Spain 2026: How do the two XIs compare?

Spain's starting XI for the 2010 World Cup final: (back row, left to right) Pedro, Busquets, Ramos, Capdevila, Pique, Alonso.Front row: Casillas, Iniesta, Villa, Xavi, Puyol

Spain's starting XI (pictured) for the 2010 final averaged 59 caps, while Tuesday's line-up averaged 44 caps

The year is 2010. A Spain side stacked with star names have sneaked their way into the World Cup final, where they ultimately triumph in a bruising encounter against the Netherlands with an extra-time Andres Iniesta winner.

Fast forward 16 years and a more under-the-radar, but equally efficient, Spain team have again reached football's showpiece.

The names may not trip off the tongue as smoothly as they did before, but Luis de la Fuente's current contingent are driven to match the achievement of the country's golden generation and lift the trophy for a second time on Sunday, 19 July.

Certain parallels are evident.

Take the continuity as both sides came into their respective World Cups having won the European Championship two years earlier.

For the team that triumphed in 2010, only three of the starting XI had not been at the 2008 Euros. Only two players who began Tuesday's semi-final against France were not part of the successful squad at Germany 2024.

Interestingly, Spain's 2026 squad of 26 players have an older average age than the group selected by Vicente del Bosque in 2010 (27.8 compared with 26.7), but they are less experienced on the international stage (33 caps on average against 56).

England missing final piece of jigsaw - Kane

Kane has scored six goals and registered one assist during the 2026 World Cup

Mandeep Sanghera
BBC Sport journalist

England captain Harry Kane says the team are "missing that final piece of the jigsaw" and need to "find a way to get better" following their defeat to Argentina in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

The Three Lions took the lead in Atlanta but were beaten 2-1, with the side and manager Thomas Tuchel being criticised for becoming too defensive after going in front.

"No words are big enough right now to overcome this empty feeling in the stomach," wrote Kane,, external as several England players took to social media to give their thoughts on the tournament.

"We were close, really close to another final but it wasn't enough. We've given everything over these last seven weeks and to fall short is hard to take!

World Cup rings for winners as Trump attendance confirmed

Gold ring for World Cup winners

Fifa revealed the World Cup rings on its website

Fifa will present World Cup rings to the winners of Sunday's final between Argentina and Spain, which will be attended by Donald Trump.

Winner rings are a tradition in American sport, with the NFL's Super Bowl victors presented with them.

Thirty rings will be made available to the world champions, and a further 1,996 rings will go on sale to fans. Each ring will include a mini World Cup trophy in its design and an engraving in the band.

President Trump, who is to present the trophy, has not attended any of the 102 World Cup games so far, missing all of the USA's matches before they went out to Belgium in the last 16.

There is a weather warning in New York over air quality caused by wildfires in Canada, but there is no suggestion the final at MetLife Stadium will be affected.

Around 7,000 tickets are still listed on Fifa's ticket sites for Saturday's World Cup bronze medal match between England and France.

As of Friday at 10:00 BST, the game in Miami (kick off 22:00 BST) has not yet sold out with 1,246 tickets on general sale listed at $865 (£657) and $1,125 (£855).

There are a further 5,864 tickets available on the official resale platform, with the cheapest being category three available at a face value of $455 (£346) plus Fifa's 15% fee.

However, there are many tickets in the higher-priced categories listed well below what they were purchased for.

Sunday's World Cup final is also not yet fully sold out, with 32 of the most expensive tickets still on general sale.

However, these tickets cost between $29,995 (£22,796) and $32,970 (£25,057). These are standard tickets, not VIP.

More than a thousand tickets remain available on the Fifa resale site, several around face value plus the Fifa fee.

The original price of these tickets was $7,380 (£5,609), which means if you decided to buy one of these, Fifa will add an extra $1,107 (£841).

The most expensive resale ticket for the final is listed at $2m (£1.52m), plus a Fifa fee of $300,000 (£228,000).

Prices on resale are set by users and do not directly reflect what people are actually paying.
