PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

They are focused on their interests and business profits first and foremost - all countries are and nothing to be offended about.

UAE has signed in for the J-35 - and in larger quantities with cash in hand instead of Pakistani soft loans and other approaches.

They are openly(some say voluntarily) not interested in having Pakistan get any further military equipment from any source. my hypothesis (happy to be corrected) is thatey are now an unfriendly country similar to how Egypt occasionally has been in preference for India but perhaps more so now along the lines of fully supporting India barring providing their own military.

Unfortunately, since the entire ruling class incl those in and out of uniform have massive financial interests mostly at personal (but some even institutional) level they are willing to eventually shrug and take the hit
Wow , didn't know UAE has replaced Pakistan as China's Israel ....does UAE have some equivalent of Epstein files on Chinese leadership?

There is someone with a bigger danda than UAE and thats Saudi Arabia and in addition to this, Pakistan has a unique relationship with chinese. So im not buying this even though i dont doubt your claims or credentials by any means. It might be the case ur overestimating their influence.

Pakistan does not need J-35 right now, it needs to induct more J-10s and JF-17 Block 3s. J-35 will be an operationally expensive aircraft beside its capex.

Pakistan would need J-35s if India does actually start construction on our rivers.

Can anyone evaluate J-35s for their A2G capabilities?

I am not sure about UAE getting J-35 before Pakistan, China has not succumbed to such pressure before, obviously I could be wrong here. Another factor is J-35s in UAE would royally upset the yanks, and would China trust UAE with the plane?

Just not sure, but as you say, they have cash...

Does we need J-35 that early I mean within this decade? there is no threat that India will get or develop 5th gen jet within this decade, So why we are in a hurry to get 5th gen jet (J-35) is that early and as for destroying Indian dams on our rivers our conventional 4th 4.5th gen jets equipped with Ra'ad and Taimoor as well as ground launched Babar are enough for destroying Indian dams on our rivers and as for deep strike missions inside India we should either go JH-7A or J-16

J-35 will be the main air superiority jet for PAF rather than have a stand-off strike and CAS (close air support/ deep penetration fighter jet)

UAE is spending a lot with China than seen - buying weapons it uses in its proxy wars.

Yeah, just not sure China would risk a rupture, even a small one, in return for UAE cash, does not seem like the way they usually do business, and of course the Chinese understand the Emirati mindset probably just as well as we do....

You are assuming they will exert their influence - that is a big assumption to make.
It is true that Pakistan does not need the J-35 immediately since it needs infrastructure work to be able to fully utilize the jet AND progress even if slow is being first on that front instead of inducting another platform when even the J-10 is not at sufficient volume to fully available to the force.

Extreme statements do not make your argument any stronger. UAE has cash - it has a business relationship that is consistently reliable on payments versus Pakistan.

Does that translate to China abandoning Pakistan for UAE or otherwise? No - such gaslighting declarations are not my cup of tea for having discussions nor have an impact on anyone intelligent.

The only thing it implies is that as a customer on the ledger along with additional transactions beyond just defense procurement - The Chinese do consider all relationships regardless of whatever “Israel equivalent” fantasies people hold which could simply translate to giving the UAE a “we shall consider” or “no way” answer on whatever aspect regarding Pakistan and then whatever adjustments they don’t or do make on the supply of equipment.

I agree with this, especially the customer bit, but all the open source evidence we have seen PM's deleted tweet, CAS and Air Marshal's mention of J-35 and simply the inherent infrastructure we already have in place, leads me to think we may be first in line, cash wise we know the Saudis are now favourable to us and understand the need for us to reequip quickly.

Also lets not forget this is China's first export of 5th Gen, even if it will be downgraded I think for the first time they may well be very sensitive about where the tech ends up, and we all know that every major UAE bases is swarming with Westerners....

If UAE sends her princesses along with dollars even then china will not sell her J 35 in foreseeable future... Certainly , china has a mercantilist mindset however she can't let go of geostrategic chessboard for some dollars... china has no dearth of dollars anyway.

Pakistan does not have infra in place - yet

Today Chinese UAVs and SAMs , Radars , small arms, L-15 all are with UAE.

If your contention is that somehow Pakistan will leave China because its doesn’t get the J-35 or that UAE shares J-35 data immediately with US Israel then I suggest you provide historical proof or at the least some non “I say so” statements (since they don’t have good track records at all).

Pakistan wont abandon the Chinese relationship until Qayamah - and its value to China is not infinite
