At some point, the entire middle east will have to sit down and have some "adult conversations" amongst themselves about what has happened, why and why everyone took the decisions they did.

One where the Saudi's/Qatari's/Bahrain/Kuwait will have to explain why in their world view, it is ok for them to host American forces who attack Iran's civilian and military infrastructure from their lands and airspace but then think they have some immunity to a response for their actions.

In those same conversations, Iran will have to explain why they think it is ok for them to attacked their shipping, impose a sea blockade, and also attack their civilian locations as well.

There will be a lot to unpick and there are most certainly no innocents in those conversations.

The statement by Qatar is full of self serving arrogance and right now there is a lot of that going around in the middle east right now. Qatar is as innocent as Iran right now (imho of course!). And yes, Qatar gets some points for trying to put out the fire, but at the same time they did contribute some kerosene to that same fire to take hold.

Well the Qataris took some major hits from Iran first wave and still mediated. As I said, this time round things seem to be different. Israel and Saudi Arabia are untouched and Iran is picking on the weakest countries and in addition to that attacking civilian infra.
Qataris (of all Mid East countries) do not deserve this. Yes, they have US Bases but do they really even have the power to eject the US from it;s bases right now?

I fear Iran seeks to replace US hegemony in the region with Persian, and imagine Persians with nukes....

The Turks are accused of attempting to re-establish the Ottoman Empire right now with Erdogan referred to as some day modern Sultan. The Iranians accused of wanting to establish the Persian empire and we all know Israel wants to establish "Greater Israel". 3 competing ideologies of conquest and control.

You have to wonder why they never seem to be happy with their lot, esp. when they have so much already.

I wonder what Empire Pakistan is trying to establish in the Middle East. :) Pakistan needs to think big ? lol.

Hahahaha, so true, I guess country is a mess we just focus on getting by day to day, but in all honesty we could have make land grabs by Afghan border, we have not, could have made land grabs in Irans side of Baluchistan right now while they are being attacked and we have not. Could have easily made those missiles hit the bases and not nearby as a warning in 2019 and we did not. Maybe we are too restrained?

Everyone knows the US can start and stop this conflict on demand… there is no threat as far as they are concernced.

I’m not a military strategist but even if they attempted to seize the southern coastline it would take hundreds of thousands of troops not just the coast but many miles of inland to prevent Iranian attacks not so simple and as we have seen Iran can lose many top leaders and be replaced by an even harder line set they have been ready in that scenario prepared to replace leaders quickly

🔷 The assessment believes that the policy of gradually expanding American strikes has brought the conflict to a state of stalemate, such that the strikes have not yet achieved their political goal of changing Iranian behavior.

🔷 The Washington Post report indicates that any additional American escalation, such as the introduction of ground forces, entails great internal political risks for President Trump, without a guarantee of decisive military success, in light of the decline in the popularity of the war within the United States.

🔷 The report reveals that the latest intelligence assessments were written mainly by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analysts, who confirm that the Iranian regime still has the ability to withstand despite the loss of a large number of its senior leaders and an important part of its military capabilities as a result of American and Israeli strikes.

🔷 The report also notes that a previous analysis prepared by the CIA in May concluded that Iran is able to withstand a US naval blockade for a period ranging between three and four months before it begins to face more severe economic pressure.

🔷 The report explains the nature of these estimates, explaining that they do not represent a confirmed prediction of the future, but rather an intelligence estimate based on the information available from human intelligence, technical collection means, and open sources, to estimate current and potential trends.

🔷 The report, quoting American officials, reveals that Washington has increasingly noticed tensions within the Iranian leadership between figures described as pragmatists and extremists, especially within the Revolutionary Guard, whose influence the Americans believe has increased during the war.

🔷 He concludes that the American intelligence assessment does not currently expect that the continuation of military strikes alone will lead to a change in the Iranian position. Rather, it is likely that the state of mutual exhaustion will continue while the door to negotiation remains open without achieving a tangible breakthrough in the near term.
 
Trump says the US will strike Iran's new Kuh-e Kolang nuclear site "very soon," adding Tehran "can't do much" to protect it and that Iran would need 20-25 years to rebuild if the US withdrew now.

@Persian Gulf Please dont tag me and mention behaviour on the Iran thread, you banned me from it and now actually complaining when I dislike some of the frankly vile posts glorifying deaths that you never seem to have a problem with as a mod unless of course victims are Iranian. you gave me 3 warnings straight away and then banned me from the entire forum.
