We're just so effing awesome.
I like how they are surprised that certain southern counties don't sell alcohol on Sunday but there was a time that Coors Beer was not allowed to be sold east of the Mississippi river during the 70s which was the plot of one of the greatest movies, Smokey and the Bandit.

Hey check it out...foreigners are actually finding out most people in the US don't live in tall apartment buildings in big crappy cities they live in single family homes in the suburbs.

So I'm used to looking at my neighborhood community and don't think of it as anything special but a few days ago I tried putting myself in the shoes of Brits and Euros that were here for World Cup and what would they think if they entered the neighborhood I live at and as I was cruising around I realized what a peaceful beautiful neighborhood I live in and how very fortunate I am. The Brits and Euros would probably think (at least my street) that this is an upper middle class when it's not the HOA just makes sure homeowners keep their cht clean and nice.

No brag at all just realizing my neighborhood isn't as chitty as I once thought when trying to see it from the prospective of a Brit or Euro walking or driving for the firs time through my neighborhood.

You wouldn't understand but there is a very specific reason that alcohol is highly restricted in English stadia and even around English stadia, so much so that kick off times are adjusted due to the threat perception increase due to the effects of alcohol.
You have to keep in mind the sports tourist class of English football fans travelling to and attending a stonkingly EXPENSIVE world cup in USA vs. the working classes back in England who attend their weekly fixtures using their life savings. In short, you did not have the pleasure of hosting the specific class of fans for whom alcohol becomes a dangerous catalyst on match day.

Well the way the US sort of gets around this problem is since we have a larger population we can sort of get away with charging higher ticket prices and throw hoops people have to jump through to get into a stadium game.

We need more burglar bars over windows, tall perimeter fences topped with barbed wire, eye scanner gates, and government cameras at intersections to keep us safe and make us a "high trust society"!!!

There are rumblings of similar moves over here in UK, certainly with the top tier Premier League teams.
E.g. One way the working class season ticket holders used to bag a couple of extra bucks to offset the high costs of supporting their team was to let paying friends take their seat for the odd game that they could not make it to anyway. That practice was quietly overlooked by football clubs, as it was an occasional practice and seemed reasonable in the long run to generate loyalty, that is until now. Not only will the crackdown deprive these individuals of a few crucial extra bucks but it could also in theory lead to some "offenders" losing their prized season ticket.
I think you're probably right on this "gentrification" as a deliberate strategy. It will certainly be good for some and bad for others. And yes, it probably would lead to lower costs of policing/legislating on game days (though the PRIMARY motivator for clubs is increased revenue from hospitality packages, which casual but rich fans will pay a shed load for). I don't know how far English football clubs will push this though.

Ticket reselling is typically legal BUT some teams have rules that if you buy season tickets you can't resell more than like 50% of the games or they will they put the hammer down on you and stick you on a blacklist for "not being much of a super fan of the team if you aren't even going".
So to get around scalpers trading a paper ticket at the gates for say $500 most tickets are now electronic...so more hoops to jump through. You almost have to always scalp it online I think. I'm not sure of these details.
Stadiums are phasing out paper tickets, but some fans want them back
As physical tickets become a thing of the past, fans are fighting to preserve the memories they represent.
