This is not job of civil servant to deliver hate speech. He need to do his job and stay low profile. Unfortunately, more hate when such type of people deploy in such sensitive region.

@Oscar , I think we had a discussion on AJK affairs a while back as well...and everyone could have predicted this. I didn't have a personal connection with Balochistan or KP, but the AJK issue hits close to home. Hoping sanity prevails.

The reality is people are sick with the incompetent rulers, nepotism, bribery, corruption type of culture. A normal citizens has to wipe the shoes of the MNAs to get some justice, over the decades a genuine voice is born but the state is using brutal force to suppress them. We must wonder why the situation in Balochistan and KPK is getting worse, and AJK wasnt even a big issue, but by killing people they made it worse, now resorting to old propaganda of TTP and RAW links. So on one hand we have the mafia and other side awaam, the mafia is being backed by the current military leadership, this is where the major problem is.

You enjoy state writ in UK when govt jailed all those white racists after riots. But have no problem when some TTP-JAAC thugs fire at police.

I predicted after the Islamabad massacre that the way the establishment was trampling over civil rights by gunning down everyone it would eventually lead to insurgencies across Pakistan, not just in Balochistan and KPK.

It now looks as though irreparable damage has been done in AJK as well, and I believe we may soon see a full fledged insurgency there. Whether India chooses to support it or not will have little bearing on how legitimate it is perceived by the people living in AJK. Combine that with a stolen election, and you have a recipe for disaster.

As long as the current military establishment remains in power, I believe many people there will have little sympathy for Islamabad anymore.

As the rulers they need to work with the citizens but instead they make the situation worse, AJK is the prime example on what happened in Balochistan, both sides secular types, not using religion as a weapon but talking about local rights, end to mafia rule and by using force, killing people, kidnapping, false cases all lead to long term hatred. The military needs to allow the local government to tackle JAAC propaganda, keep themselves on the side but for some reason they are dying for own blood.

What exactly is the issue here? I always thought Pakistan Azaad Kashmir people were some of the most loyal, patriotic Pakistanis. And it seems silly to protest against Pakistan, when the alternative-falling into the hands of Hindutva ruled India- is even worse.

What are their demands and grievances?

Just like Kashmir Valley people wanted freedom from India but Indian forces uses brutal force to kill Kashmiris, kidnap them, make false cases etc, the people in AJK want freedom from the mafia rulers, it started from protest against local government to National government since they back the thugs in power. They only want local rights and some changes in the government. The government now is trying to make them in to terrorists, copying indian playbook. Overall will lead to long term hatred.

Let me be honest. IND, being Hindu dominated, never trusted a Muslim majority state to elect its own government. They repeatedly violated the democratic rights of Kashmiri people beginning with the arrest and dismissal of Sheikh Abdullah to the brutal rigging of 1987 polls. That is what led to the long insurgency. We are paying the price for our own insecurity and distrust.

But why is the Pak govt so insecure of AJK's people rights to chose their own govt. They are fellow Muslims-it is not like they are going to cross over to join Hindu India.
