Kundi urges anti-terror IBOs across K-P

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday called for province-wide intelli-gence-based operations to curb terrorism, stressing that the growing security threat required close co-ordination between the federal and provincial governments to ensure lasting peace.
Speaking to journalists at the Regional Police Office (RPO) in Dera Ismail Khan, the governor said the fight against militancy was a shared national responsibility that could only be won through unity, effec-tive intelligence sharing and coordinated action. He said he would soon discuss the matter with the K-P chief minister to strengthen joint efforts against terrorism.
Governor Kundi revealed that more than 1,300 kilograms of explosives had been used in the recent ter-rorist attack on the Manjhi Khel check post in Tank district, describing it as evidence of the extensive planning behind the assault. He said the attack claimed the lives of personnel from the army, police and the Forest Department, adding that their sacrifices would remain a source of national pride.
The governor praised armed forces and security agencies for their ongoing counter-terrorism efforts under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He alleged that India was sponsoring terrorism by using Afghan territory to destabilise Pakistan and claimed that hostile forces were seeking to under-mine the country's security and stability.
Expressing concern over the resurgence of terrorism, Kundi said the evolving regional security environ-ment had created fresh challenges for Pakistan. He maintained that weapons abandoned by global powers in Afghanistan were frequently being used in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, with K-P bearing the brunt of the violence.
The governor reaffirmed his unwavering support for the armed forces, police and other security institu-tions, saying cowardly attacks could never weaken the resolve of Pakistan's defenders or its people. He commended the police for confronting terrorists with courage, professionalism and high morale despite difficult circumstances.
