Funny thing is, with respect to its population size India does not have that big of a diaspora.

India has 18.5 million diaspora at 1.46 billion population.

Pakistan has 10 million strong diaspora for only 240 million population.
Mexico has 12 million strong diaspora for only 133 million population.
Philipinese has 10-15 million strong diaspora for only 112 million population.

If anything these countries are sending way more people per capita than India is doing.

Besides, Indian diaspora is most prosperous almost everywhere, commits much lesser crimes and is highly educated.

Cann't say that about other.

But you are right relatively still. But remember being separate country benefit Bangladesh/Pakistan diaspora numbers. While so many people from same country as is India become much more controversial. Hence smaller countries benefit from special quotas.

I think from complimentary economics point of view it makes complete sense. A joint task force on migration will help ease bottlenevks and could help us guide this target for canada.

India immigration to Canada is 10-12x then that of Pakistan. They must be given credit for that. Pakistan policies have failed to increase our population in USA/Canada relative to India.

Ethnic Indian population in Canada is about 1.9 million. Ethnic Pakistani population is 303K. Six times.

This is very much inline with India's own population. About six times that of Pakistan.
