Not about anti West, anti capitalist, anti communist. Or anti anything
Freedom has limit. If anyone can do whatever he or she wants, then welcome to concentration camps and gas chambers here in Germany tomorrow. The rightist AFD is about to win elections. I am thinking to prepare just in case.
Yes, law and order is a must.Every nation in the world is de facto authoritarian, and the so-called freedom of speech has its limit.
Before, the western nations have weaponized it to attack their political opponents for too long.
And back to the reality, the authoritarianism will persist or otherwise the whole society will succumb to a lawless/chaotic state.
Yes, law and order is a must.
What’s authoritarian? What’s difference between North Korea and the US? Every country has laws and order. The joke is if you run against the state in North Korea you are executed immediately, in the US you end up in an intern camp starving to death. I like to speak up but as said I have 0 interest to end up in a gas chamber. Wonderful democracy.
These top Chinese universities graduates take the most pro-US and West stances in international affairs aside from sending lots graduate talents to serve the US and West. It's a shame.Fudan just got blacklisted by the US recently, so they are getting cleansed.

The world is full of psycho like Putin and Trump. In addition there are green fanatics, facists, religious nuts, woke people and all sorts. I would care more about them than about communism or authoritarian. Common people need jobs, income, housing. Not free speech with nothing to eat on the table.North Korea is ruled by the Kim family alone, and the US is ruled by many rich families.
North Korea lacks the confidence as they perceive when their people start to sh1ttalking their great leader, then it might be a sign of uprising, but those initiators must be taken down.
The US de facto rulers hide behind their puppet government and president, so give their people some limited freedom to talksh1t about their government or president. That's it.
Basically, it is just different trope to control their people.
But all governments have the same goal, regardless it is authoritarian or so-called 'democratic'.
No one advocates for absolute freedom, so there's no need to strawman the argument with extreme cases. Regarding this specific situation: what exactly did he do that violates any fundamental law or norm? What grounds are there for punishment, or a full sentence, if we set aside his Fields Medal? Not about anti West, anti capitalist, anti communist. Or anti anything
