Makkah Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

FY 2025–26 the trade volume between India and Saudi Arabia was US$ 41.07 Billion ! So yeah they are going to kick out Indian Workers from their country !

My point was to counter someone above that India has leverage over Saudi Arabia. Not true. And you can see Indian analysts themselves worried about India's labor force kicked out of Saudi Arabia at least potentially.
India is a pathetic country whose production has been making the babies and exporting them as adults to every corner of the world. Not saying Pakistan is any better on that count but then Pakistanis don't gloat over their pathetic circumstances. You Indians are very vulnerable: The trade volumes couldn't protect you from China's help to Pakistan during the May 2025 conflict and neither will the trade volumes protect you from other nations, including Saudi Arabia.

A joint KAAN force seems like the way forward, linked in with PAF/Saudi Erieyes.

Will be ITAR free , maybe 100 planes per country.
I think if KSA invest in Turkish Engine program that can bear fruits that will be beneficially for all 3 countries, if KAAN production is divided among the 3 nations they can roll out good numbers of fighter jets per year.

Good point, unsure what Pakistan can contribute but we have design knowledge from JF-17, you could have three seperate lines in all three countries I guess

US has too much influence over those countries. They need to have the US sign off on any major alliance otherwise US will say its a threat to Israel and use sanctions/threats/blockades etc.

There is some speculation it is the US that is behind the scenes architecting and encouraging this alliance. So it can setup a balance of power in the region , this alliance v Israel v Iran, and be able to step back.

I agree US has influence over all 3 of these countries. But we overrate the US influence and I completely disagree to the point that US was in background for this agreement for several reasons. First, the US influence is overrated. These 3 countries were able to do things which US never wanted.

I will list only few events which US influence could not stop. just to make a point:

Saudi Arabia:
- Saudi relations with Russia
- Saudi OPEC+ oil cuts with Russia
- Rapprochement with Iran
- Refusal on Israel Normalization
- Deepening ties with China
Turkey
- Military ops against Kurds
- Buying S400
- Building independent defense industry, ending US hegemony and also competing with it in defense market at some levels.
Pakistan:
- Nuclear weapon program. Developing 100s of nuclear warheads despite US sanctions in the past during development.
- Israel's non-recognition and its condemnation at every intl stage.
- Supporting its own groups when US forces were in Afghanistan
- All weather alliance with China (United States Biggest rival). Building various defense and strategic projects with China.

Secondly, US policy in never based immaturely. They would never have let formation of a defence pact now (Even assumingly if they have enormous influence), a pact which later on can become a headache for them or their ally israel (whenever the influence is low or gone, which is happening btw).

By all practical purposes US always make a safe bet, so if they literally were behind such a pact then they would have become a party to it. This is purely region's own initiative. Which is commendable.

exactly, KSA got massive industry and so is Turkiye, Pakistan has good experience with JF-17's and PAC kamra can be expended to add some components of KAAN to be produced in Pakistan and KSA, which will bring the overall cost down for each country, best part that once engine issue is resolve then this KAAN fighter will be a sanction/worry free 5th gen fighter with NATO standard techs, and all three countries can control the technology and and expansion of this jet, but like i keep saying this will be a slow lenghty process, and only time will tell how things will turn out, but at least they signed the pact/agreement which was always the first step.

No offence bro ... you are the castrated wonder of region , no country trusts you.
no offence taken it's ok.
cowards or castrated it doesn't matter , we won't join any alliance aimed at iran or any muslim group in the area, we aren't that dumb.

being coward is better than we attacking muslims in iran , yemen and iraq.

But doing nothing when Israel commits genocide next to your borders????

Come on man, you can't defend such behavior

We need Egypt to wake up

We need Iran on board

Maybe I am dumb but this raises so many questions in my head.

Türkiye is already part of NATO, they have US and Europe to defend them - in theory at least. Why do they need Pakistan? and what can Pakistan do to support that the mighty Amreeka cannot? Türkiye itself is militarily doing a lot better than Pakistan. Saudi is not exactly known for having an effective military machine. So what does Türkiye get out of it?

Saudis might feel a bit more comfortable against Iran perhaps since they would now have men ready to be sacrificed for them. They can already buy any weapons in the world so they don't need Pakistan and Türkiye for weapons. They get Pakistani manpower to operate Western weapons I guess.

Most importantly though, what does Pakistan get out of it? apart from of course comfortable retirement packages for the generals and the other thieves.

If India invades, would Saudis lend us their Typhoons and F15s? Would we get free supply of oil? Will we get free KAANs and advanced Turkish drones?

My bet is that its just one of the countless useless episodes to make the Saudi royals feel good. Like that 'Coalition of Islamic armies' that a retired army chief was appointed to lead - whatever happened to that.

I am open to be enlightened though.

I never said it's ok to stay silent when israel doing genocide to gazans , what that has to do with us refusing to join a treaty aimed at attacking other muslims states and groups?

Not because of this. People tend to comment these developments with ongoing developments.

Hakan Fidan has been talkin about this alliance for almost 2 years.
He gave the example of Syria. When regional countries don't cooperate to solve region's problems, hegamonic powers fill into vacuum. Russia and US both come to Syria established their own military bases, their own no fly zones, allied themselves with the factions of Syrians, and civil war continued for many years. Not capable of establishing peace (or maybe that was never their intention at the first place.)
Hakan Fidan long said regional countries should cooperate and find solutions to our own regional crysis which would keep hegemonic powers outside.

Hakan is Israel's next nightmare--worse than Erdogan. It is because of Hakan's rhetoric that no less person then the presumed next Israeli PM Naftali Bennet has been calling Turkey as Israel's next big threat.
I believe Pakistan is here for the money--to fund its war machine against India. Turkey too for the money. But money is not everything in a region deeply steeped with civilizational and religious ties. There are the emotional ties too hard to shake because of importance of Jerusalem in many countries even far beyond the region.
As for Saudi Arabia, they didn't waste time in signing the Defense Agreement with Pakistan soon after the Netanyahu blunder of attacking Qatar last year. A blunder so big that even Netanyahu had to make a rare apology to Qatar but the horses had already bolted out of the barn by then. Pakistan has stepped in to protect Saudi Arabia against Israel and Israelis know that very well.

Indians have been crapping in their pants about the Saudis kicking out the huge Indian diaspora since the Pakistan-Saudi Defense Pact was signed late last year. Saudis have a lot of leverage over India--it is not a one way street.
Indeed. This is the key test of the pact when hostilities resume with the circus to our east. KSA has little military clout buy has plenty of financial levers to pull if the need arises. Energy flow, remittances, jobs in the middle east - all should be fair game in any future attempt by the Secular Republic to impose its will upon Pakistan.

Their uncomfortable laughter belies a quiet concern. Delhi is genuinely not sure any more of its place in the middle eastern ecosystem. Modi only has himself to blame for this with his fatherland motherland antics. Were he a better educated individual, he may comprehend the nuances of modern statecraft. But, alas, what can a lifelong tea seller do when the weather changes?

How can Pakistan protect Saudi Arabia against Israel ? It has no technology or assets to shootdown Israeli Air Force, neither can it stop Israeli ballistic or cruise missiles. It cannot stop Israeli Navy nor the Mossad.

Saudis have a far more powerful weapon than Pakistan to deter Israel, and that is financial partnerships with Jewish-Americans. You are aware of the $2 billion Saudis gave to Jared Kushner, which he says he invested in Israel ? Well now Saudis and Kushner have teamed up to buy Electronic Arts, a famous video game studio for $55 billion.

Let's drop this fiction that Israel threatens Saudi Arabia or they are ever going to fight.
