Makkah Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Well, if anyone attacks Saudi, Turkiye or Pakistan you will see the true intnetions

If it is Iran so be it, Muslim world fed up of your bulls**t now
That's your opinion. Iran has no problem with Turkey and Pakistan. Any attack against Iran by a third country while Iran and Saudi have clashes or war means that the third party enters a war of choice against Iran.

True. Geopolitics is a complex science but Israel is indeed behind the fall of Syria and Jolani/ Al Shara.
I seriously doubt. The genocidal Assads were their best assets. The fall of Assads was orchestrated by the Turkish intelligence. And, I won't be surprised if Pak was lurking behind the scene....

The foreign ministers of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Pakistan held talks in Riyadh on Thursday, on the sideline of a summit of Islamic countries, and discussed ways to combine their strengths for the first time.

Turkey has, since last year, been seeking a security pact with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Earlier this year, a Pakistani minister said in a statement that such a deal had been in the pipeline for nearly a year.

Turkish sources familiar with the issue previously told Middle East Eye that Ankara was also trying to bring Egypt into the arrangement. The sources said the agreement would not mirror the guarantees and commitments of Nato, but would instead serve as a security platform to enable greater cooperation in the defence industry and broader defence matters.

"We are exploring how, as countries with a certain degree of influence in the region, we can combine our strengths to solve problems," Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Saturday.

"Above all, we have for some time been saying that the countries of the region should come together, hold discussions and develop ideas. We emphasise regional ownership."

Fidan added that the countries were discussing the current situation in the region, including the US-Israeli war on Iran and Tehran's counterattacks on Gulf countries, and considering what benefits their joint efforts could bring in addressing such challenges.

"In principle, we need to recognise this: either we come together and learn to solve our own problems ourselves, or an external hegemon will come and either impose solutions that serve its own interests, or do nothing while preventing others from acting," he said.

While Ankara has repeatedly described Israel as the primary instigator of the war with Iran, a joint statement by the participating countries in Riyadh on Thursday strongly criticised Tehran for its attacks on the Gulf.

The statement mentioned Israel only briefly, referring to its "expansionist" policy in Lebanon.

"We need to learn to trust one another. We need to act together on certain issues. We need to be able to adopt a common stance," Fidan said.

He added that Ankara had extensive experience in international relations when it came to advancing institutional and collective initiatives, and that countries such as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt each possessed significant capabilities and played important regional roles.

While Ankara has invested heavily in its defence industry, championing the domestic production of advanced drones, missiles and jets, Pakistan possesses nuclear warheads, and Saudi Arabia is emerging as an important hub for advanced technologies.

Egypt, as the most populous Arab nation, is seen as a pillar of the region because of its military capabilities.

Turkey and Egypt signed a bilateral military agreement in February to deepen their cooperation in the security field during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Cairo.

During the visit, Turkish arms supplier Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) signed a $350m export agreement with the Egyptian Ministry of Defence, which included the sale of ammunition and the establishment of production lines in Egypt.

@Oscar bro, What's the assessment?

Your entire argument starts falling apart the moment you look at Kahuta. Israel and India planned striking Pakistan’s nuclear programme in the early 1980s, after already destroying Osirak in Iraq. Pakistan then, was technologically and conventionally far weaker than it is today.

So what happened to that supposed absolute superiority? Why was the attack never carried out? Beause they feared Nuclear retaliation... Israel despite having all the military goodies is a tiny land mass.
Israelis were ready to attack Kahuta, it was the Indian government that ultimately vetoed the plan, fearing the breakout of a conventional war. There was no Pakistani nuke at the time.
Now coming on to the the the classic argument: Israel has access to “unlimited” Western intelligence, therefore every other strategic calculation in the region simply ceases to exist.

And whatever happened to these supposedly omniscient Western intelligence capabilities anyway? During the fighting, the Israelis were repeatedly striking mock aircraft, decoy launchers and other dummy targets. Apparently “unlimited intelligence” still has limits.
I was responding to your boasts about the size of Pakistani AWACS fleet, that it is bigger that Israel. The point is Israel has its own AWACS/EW assets, access to GCC radars AND NATO satellites and radars.
Israel has an exceptionally capable air force, nobody disputes that. But “far exceeds” everyone in every relevant category is fanboy analysis, and clearly shows your lack to knowlegde. Pakistan and Türkiye operate proper network centric air forces with AEW&C, BVR weapons, electronic warfare, and substantial combat fleets. Israel would be facing a modern military, not chasing Houthis around Yemen or bombing clear skies in Tehran
Does the Israeli Air Force not possess all of these capabilities you mentioned and in greater capacity ?

Do the Turkish or Pakistani air forces currently have the capability to confront and defeat an Israeli attack based on planes, drones and missiles ? No

Can they stop Israeli cyberattacks ? No

Can they detect and foil Mossad ? No

Can Pakistan spare the capacity to fight Israel when it faces India and Afghanistan ? No

Nobody said Pakistan is planning to launch some heroic expedition to Tel Aviv to “save the Saudis.” The entire point of a defence pact is deterrence: making any adversary calculate the wider consequences before escalating. That applies whether the threat comes from Israel, Iran, India or anyone else.
What deterrence when you have little to no capacity or capability to fight Israel in the first place ?? You are building sand castles in the air.

I seriously doubt. The genocidal Assads were their best assets. The fall of Assads was orchestrated by the Turkish intelligence. And, I won't be surprised if Pak was lurking behind the scene....
Pak intelligence is busy beating its own people and snatching elections. Doubt they had anything to do with Syria.

Turks have given a chance to Syria to rebuild its country, at current stage they can't take on Israel to take back Golan heights, and given Jolani is former Terrorists he has to navigate very carefully, but it would be wise for Syria to play all sides and keep a low profile to build it stregth back with help of some Western countries and Turkiye.

Well said, that's why we can only guess the true intentions of this pact.
But it will not be against Iran though, Pakistan has been working hard to encourage Turkey, Saudia to oppose the war on Iran, Pakistan backed Iran in the UN, and gave political and moral support to Iran, our senior leadership attended Iran numerous times to show support. But yes in other nations like Yemen, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia we will witness suppprt for pro Saudia Turkey governments. Pakistan has no stake but Turkey and Saudia want pro governments in their immediate region.

Pakistan's nuclear enrichment program could play a key role in Turkish Nukdem Nuclear Submarine program.

South Korean Nuclear submarines are receiving Uranium from the United States as part of a Nuclear agreement they signed, rather than having the uranium enriched in South Korea.

Turkey has 2 options on this, either it can go down the Iran route and enrich it in the country for the Submarine program, or it can receive the tech and uranium from a different source, no one in europe or NATO will give this, so the option would have to be Pakistan in all likelyhood.

Not a fan of these defensive pacts with foreign countries, we have no control over the foreign policies of these countries so why should we send our soldiers to die fighting other nations' wars just because they may declare a war on a country that has nothing to do with us thousands of miles away. I think this is also unfair to our soldiers who made an oath to die defending Pakistan not saudi arabia or turkiye.

This is the most likely scenario.
What about if India attack Pakistan ?

Turkiye and S.Arabia will fight for Pakistan

And who just bailed out Pakistan when the UAE asked for its back from Pakistan because Pakistan wasn't going to play by UAU's ball during the ongoing war on Iran? And who has done it many times over the decades? Right, it was Malaysia, or Indonesia, or Turkey! NOT!

You speak with the same exuberance of a typical expat living in some Western countries and sadly your views have been too tainted by Pakistan's domestic politics just like the Pahalvists living in Western countries.
Pakistan has every right to form alliance/defence treaties with whoever they want but it was Saudia who threatened Pakistan, you will not talk about that since all you see is petrodollars. But some people oppose Pakistanis fighting other people wars and getting back bodies.

This is the most likely scenario.
What about if India attack Pakistan ?

Turkiye and S.Arabia will fight for Pakistan

the treaty doesn't specify and it doesn't mean fighting necessarily, but that there will be support.

Pakistan does not need manpower, It has 260 Million people, what it needs is money and technology and weapons. Saudis will provide the money and Turkey the Tech and weapons.

US approval

US approval would be the last thing in Saudi minds right now. The public opinion in the US does not approve of the empire at the cost of everyday Americans.
Which inevitably retrenches US back to the western hemisphere. The security concerns in Mideast are legitimate and US withdrawal brings in the power vacuum that will push multiple groups vying to claim stakes. Iran as an entity and state will inevitably find durable stability... however the rest of the Mideast will not... it has been destablized... and vested interests would try and keep it that way... chiefly zion. Turkiye and Pakistan present the only powers that have history, depth and ability to thwart any coalescing/budding threat. That has as much to do with the holy cities as providing cover for the house of Saud. If Emirates hadn't shown it's hand inside the peninsula, it would still have been a Trojan working on the inside. The Yemen crisis is solely a Saudi overplay that backfired spectacularly where they'll have to provide concessions and work out a coalition government. No one has an incentive to put their military in Yemen... where the host will always have less to lose than the adversary.
So, this coalition... which has limited to no interoperability is primarily a stabilizing effort... where any native capabilities will only develop in coming decades.

Many low signals are coming out about “Pakistan next”, “NATO attack Pakistan”. Israel do not need to attack Pakistan. They have nato at their disposal !

Pakistan should urgently speed up its punching capacity for yesterday !

In those troubled and tense times, all Pakistanis should put aside their divisions, be it political, religious or whatever and work harder for the very bloody upcoming times.

Remember all those skirmishes we had or having with India since few years are “probings” and data collection for future operations.

I’m far away from Pakistan and getting old so cannot come to fight along our army so all I can do is warn you my brothers and sisters and pray for all the ummah. May Allah protect us.
Ameen
