Joint Defense Agreement: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Guess what Egypt is also slated to join them... so did the Saudis, should the Abraham Accords had gone through...
However, Egypt is already on the other side.

The problem with Egypt is lack of trust at multiple levels to be a treaty member.

We know of the deep collaboration they have with India and the question arises that if India does attack Pakistan again more forcefully to the point where Pakistan asks for treaty help, could we see Egypt militarily assist Pakistan? In the case of Türkiye and Saudi, yes I can see that happening.

However, I do not think that Egypt will take part in military operations against India to defend Pakistan as part of the treaty obligations. Once you have that "selectivism" by a member state, then the treaty pact itself actually falls apart at the seams as the guarantees mean nothing. That is why I don't think Egypt makes a good partner. At some level, you have to sub-ordinate your individual interests to those of the pact and the obligations of the pact i.e. mutual defence and I don't see Egypt doing that.

They made the EU and NATO work, because they agreed to never have catastrophic wars amongst each other like WWI and WWII. No matter how divisive their differences may be, they never resort to conflict or undermining each other. That can't be said of the Muslim world.

This is why I think the founding members have to develop the framework to make it work before new members are added to it. To iron out those kind of issues, otherwise as you say, it will fall apart if they don't.

If you're forming your opinion on the basis of this thread then I all can say ! Your naivety is very endearing.
Bro, this thread simply reflects the behavior we outside outside, a cursory look at the headlines will tell you that.

You misread my post. I didn't ask them to care about the Palestinians in Gaza. I insinuated that IF they keep fighting aamongst themselves and don't look at the bigger picture, the fate of the people of THEIR countries would be the SAME as that of the Palestinians in Gaza.
It's too late for that my friend.

Besides, they have been financially cultivated by zion/US and Emirates...
Which other sovereign state would accept knocked down kits of their military hardware? Engage in espionage on behalf of it's supposed enemy... they have active intelligence sharing.
One cannot have a link-17 or common communications platform shared with a mole... who everyone knows will not turn up when called upon... they didn't bat an eyelid for Palestine... in fact profit out of Gazan misery.

I hate to be pessimistic and cynical, but I have good reason to be. A cursory read through this thread will show why this probably won't work. We have Egyptians/Arabs and Turks at each others throats, not to mention the issue with the Iranians, and reminding each other who defeated who hundreds of years ago. But that's quite apt, our history mostly comprises war and conflict among ourselves, most of our blood has been spilt with our own hands. I don't expect our leaders to be any different. It would be a miracle if this so called 'pact' leads to some form of cooperation and less conflict among ourselves, let alone coming to each others aid.

A loose 'union', something akin to the EU, where we instead priorities closer cooperation and the absolute banning of any conflict amongst ourselves, would be a better solution.

Its already been happening. Turkiye already had strong bonds with Pakistan. The Turkish military already moved into Cyprus in 1974. In the last decade Turkiye saved the government in Libya, supported the people of Syria to win that war. Turkiye is deeply entrenched in northern Iraq. They supported Azerbaijan to defeat Armenia who was supported by Russia. In which Turkiye already has a defence alliance with. Turkiye is training the somalian army and they are supporting the Sudanese against the UAE backed terrorists. When the gulf states looked like they were going to invade Qatar, like wise the Turkish army was sent there. There are a few other examples that could be used too.

Pakistan likewise has made her connections and one of those was a defence alliance with Saudi not so long ago.

The point I'm making is the movement towards each other has already been taking place for a while now.

the catalyst for all of this actually is Turkiye and Pakistan. The more each nation is able to grow in power, the more nations they will pull into their sphere.

This union will grow or die depending on the strength of these two nations. If they become stronger it grows, if they become weaker it collapses.

Saudi Arabia reportedly blocked Egypt from joining the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, its new defence alliance with Türkiye and Pakistan, despite Ankara pushing for Cairo’s inclusion.

Saudi sources said Riyadh increasingly sees Egypt under Sisi as an unreliable, aid-dependent partner with limited strategic and military value, while also objecting to Cairo’s close alignment with the UAE.

Egypt could still join the alliance in the future, but Saudi officials reportedly want to see greater reliability and strategic alignment from Cairo first.

Okay so then sit back and die? Watch your race get wiped out? Or is it not better TO TRY and do something about it? At least then you have a chance however small it may be. Doing something is better than doing nothing.

I hope this pact is about investing in the military industry , I really hope , that would be useful for the Saudis people and even for all arabs.
Yeah, i hope the same. Even if Saudis spend a fraction of their budgests to buying or funding. It will be a huge boost for Turkish Military industry.

This is the new production campus for Aselsan. It is huge and every design office in Ankara are working on the projects of this campus.

Same with Roketsan. And we did this without Gulf funds. Imagine what would be the production capacity if we get some funds.

Mecca defence pact gives Pakistan a greater profile in Middle East – no doubt about it

And I suppose Turkey did all that for the sake of others or the "ummah", or for its own interests? I think we've come along way from that now, even if you exclude that argument, you have a region beset with rivalries, for which leaders are willing to go to extraordinary lengths of death and destruction, mostly at the expense of others of course, for their interests. But what they haven't learnt, which the Europeans did, painfully I might, is that destabilizing others or fueling conflict will only hurt yourself, and they're still learning it in Ukraine. Heck look at the mess in Afghanistan and Pakistan paying the price. You can argue ad nauseam about history, but then again it has a way of repeating itself I guess.
