Time for all the ignorant overseas Pakistanis to wake up and smell the coffee.
Will be quite afew painful experiences of booking ticket and showing up with expired ID cards/passports to be denied boarding pass.

Wanna avoid inconvenience? well keep your ID dox VALID
 
PIA had not formally made any offer to the Ethiopian Gentleman. Air India did and hence got his services

See the board of directors.. All are civilians. Fauji Foundation was in huge losses for years even when they had no competition. They needed experts. Unfortunately, those are civvie.

The army can just cut the red tape and provide security. It can't do anything else. Even Suparco, AWC, etc have many civilians, who here given the right opportunities/tools do wonder.

Even putting army personnel in an underfunded and controlled civilian setup cannot give any yield. For example, martial law. Army...

There are some employees working in PIA, on contract, working since atleast 15 years, but they will not benefit from this bonus because it is only for permanent [ Selected few ] employees.

hmm, i read the post AND the comments.
Sometimes these things all depend on the cabin crew and other personal circumstances. Seems the 70 yr old traveler wasn't that well? Or became sick during flight?
If an elderly is ill perhaps they should travel with family member for assistance or delay or ride up ahead in premium for more comfort.

With the financial crunch at PIA and recent privatization.......things are still slow as hell and moving at turtle pace, just like before.

Not even sure what the new management is doing since the takeover, its embarrassingly stupid and SLOW as ****

How do they still unable to get parts, engines, etc to bring back the grounded fleet. What the hell is taking so long? Tenders still going unfilled and no responses or improvements even after the highly sought privatization

And perhaps someone's big mouth spoke too soon (lambi chorna) and didn't back it up?

Everyone wants competent people, but the key is, that competent people NEVER wait for slow organizations offers. If they wanted him should've signed the contract first then break it to media and online.

PIA New Management is still moving like a slow turtle which does not help things or image at all. Still waiting for their "amazing transformation" to come out.

What I have heard that his process of his 'security clearance' was taking longer than expected after which PIA would have discussed a formal offer with him. Indians simply beat us to it
