Masoud Pezeshkian – President of Iran – expected.
Tarique Rahman – Prime Minister of Bangladesh – invited, attendance not confirmed.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev – President of Kazakhstan – expected.

Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and UAE – leaders are expected, but their attendance is not yet confirmed.

BRICS is a joke. Every country wants to lead, but no country wants to follow. There was supposed to be a BRICS currency to challenge the dollar, but they're nowhere near that.

There is no point in challenging the dollar or challenge the US or anyone for that matter. These things happen without anyone actively pushing for it. The US sanctions themselves work in favour of removing dollar as a traded currency. The same actions like kicking out of SWIFT payments will automatically make countries look for other systems. World is becoming more multipolar and there is no point in thinking of leaders in BRICS or BRICS vs West narrative.

thats what happens when even 1 wrong mistake can derail it all. That usually means a wrong member country.

Given the geopolitics today, it ain't a surprise anymore

Functionally an economic grouping. Operates as one too. It would be very important in the near future.

An underperforming project that had a huge potential. If only you gave more attention to Central Asia and SEA instead of wasting it on South Asia and to some extent Africa.

I don't think any other international organization has achieved as little in so much time despite looking so formidable on paper, and that seems unlikely to change.
