For me it's definitely the food. I had parantas with aloo gosht this morning for breakfast. I thought to myself how lucky we to have such a top cuisine.

Imagine being French and the best you have to offer is a croissant.

Or a snail.

Food goes a long way bro. Lets be honest - whether its barfi halwa or mango - its a special taste......

Many things. the smell of dust in the air after it has just rained in Rawapindi. Landing home on an early morning flight and feeling the heat and smell of Pakistan.
Driving through traffic and being behind an army truck full of cheerful jawans.
Having Butt Karahi late at night by the roadside in Rawat. Helping out on our farm in Davri, driving tractors, harvesting the peanuts. Smell of a woodfire and village women cooking a chicken we just bought home. Being in NYC once and in a bar and Pakistan's anthem being played on a news report and seeing 2 middle aged business men stand for it. Pakistani troops always in some UN contingent.
Generosity of even not very well off Pakistanis to poor people both home and abroad.
Seeing Pakistani sports people, politicians and business people succeed the world over.
Our flag.

Loudspeakers blaring the call to prayer at the top of their lungs, traffic jams, and all that, etc., etc... No, but honestly, the only thing I really miss is that I probably won't be able to do something meaningful for my country or make any significant contribution to its progress and development.

Food, generosity of people, 4-seasons, stunning landscape from the Karakorum to the Arabian Sea. It surprises my American friends and relatives that even the warmest city of Pakistan, which is Karachi, gets cold enough to have a record of 0 C as minimum temp! They think Pakistan is all some hot desert.

The feeling of vastness that I have in Pakistan. I can go in any direction and feel I like I am still at home.

The unique flag that naturally feels incomplete without Kashmir or if you remove any part from it.

Well,.. Unfortunately I dont miss much. Just 2 things. My family, and azaan from a loudspeaker. Thats it.

Previously I was pround for our stance on Palestine. But today you can not protest against Israel in Pakistan. That is the reality of today. So that is also lost.

Food

Warmer relationships between family and friends than in other parts of the world.

Most Pakistanis are trying to adapt to the modern world, rather than blindly copy the West. This means they are retaining more of their values and identity.

Even the weakest and poorest in society try to help others.
