Australia rejects India's plea to trademark Basmati rice citing Pakistan's sales

We have an FTA with Australia.

Numbers speak more than words. I love this quality over quantity argument you come up with one of those "Pakistani mangoes are sweeter saar" aaa argument.
I've had your pathetic alfonso mangoes they are mid. Stop trying so hard

FTA didn't help you at the end of the day. Australia rejected Indian request.

India has no quality. Another ally of India has banned your so-called quality mangoes:

India in effect controls global rice prices. We cut exports price rises, we flood the market price drops.

As for Mangoes, Japan routinely bans food products from other countries. They have banned foods from the US too. Japan is not a major mango importing country and India don't export much of its mangoes because domestic demand is so high. Basmati is available for export in itself is because domestic demand is lower compared to other rices.

We don't even export much of the Alfonso lol! India consumes most of the produced mangoes to a point that Indian mangoes are niche in the US et al.

I'm not sure why you're talking about exports when I'm talking about taste. You're the one who tried to throw a dig at us, I'm not entirely sure you even know what's going on. I'll repeat myself again. Your mangoes are mid, hell even the arabs here have slowly started to realize, moreover, in the UK the goray are starting to learn about it too. Alfonso mangoes are hailed as the second coming of Jesus by Indians. BEST MANGO IN THE WORLD SARRR.

Is that why Australia rejected Indian request? Clearly the Australians don't want Indian products such as basmati rice to dominate their market. Clearly the Australians decided that other nations like Pakistan should get a fair chance to sell their own basmati rice.

You are going round in circles and trying your best, but the truth is that you got brutally rejected by your own ally.

Your mangoes are low quality and filled with pesticides and what not. Japan is another ally of yours who clearly doesn't want to import Indian infested mangoes.

It's a request for exclusive rights and GI tag which was rejected. Not basmati rice.

Come on bro. Frankly you KNOW there is no competition with the mangoes. Any sane Indian (let alone Pakistani) will always pick Pakistani rice.
Dont know what it is but the quality is better from Pak side. I know patriotism sometimes blinds but honesty has to prevail.

Nice try. You're the one who threw shade over our claims that our mangoes our sweeter. Which is true. Move along. This isn't now you see me 2.

India produce 150 million metric tonnes of rice, you make 10 million on a record production. There is 6000 varieties of rice grown in India of which 300 are aromatic rice more premium and aromatic than basmati btw.
Same goes for Mangoes in terms of varieties and taste. India used to have nearly 200k rice varieties before green revolution most of which went extinct after high yield varieties were introduced. There is not even a comparison. In most cases the experience of you guys is from your local supermarket where you buy same variety of rice or mangoes and go on praising it. Like frogs in a well you probably will never taste rice or mango varieties in India.

For Basmati rice and yes it got rejected. What does it this tell you about your clout among your quad allies?
Nothing much, this comes under judicial review not an executive one. The claim for GI is not prerogative of the government so Australian government no matter how friendly they are to India cannot influence such a decision. But we have a FTA through which we can export without duties.

Thread is about exports, not production. You can sit in your field and eat your own rice and mangoes all day long.

Incredible. On a Pakistani forum salivating over anything Pakistani then saying India is better? Mindset is beyond me. Sane Indians in the UK ( and there are some ) praise the quality of rice made in Pakistan. Dont know what it is but anything made in India tastes 2nd rate.
