For years,Israel kept killing Shia mercenaries in Syria and that brought no effect on Iranian leadership simply because those non Iranian shias are expendable

Interestingly the arabs AND the gcc have wasted no time in condemning this attack,I suspect partly because they`d rather not have iran take out the zio consulates in their countries,tho I`d assume that they`d certainly be evacuated by the zios by now.

It wasn't the consulate. It was an annex to the consulate. And Iran is unlikely to respond proportionately in my opinion. This is exactly what Israel and the US want, because it will give them reason to officially go to war against Iran.

But personally I think that what the zios have done demands something more direct with far more immediate consequences "on the ground" for the israelis.
My money would be on either an ain alasad style strike on the idf airbase the attack was launched from or a strike on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel building.
I think that these 2 options would on the face of it be the most likely ones,tho I wouldnt entirely rule out the possibility of a lessor retaliatory strike on something like the israeli embassy in jordan or its consulate in bahrain.
These however are not only lessor value targets but I`ve no doubt that they,like probably most of the israeli diplomatic facilities in the mena region,have probably already been evacuated "just in case"

It's too late now. If it doesn't come tonight then we 'time and place of our choosing' means never going to happen. The way they're restraining Hezbollah too is a sign nothing will happen. US says it doesn't want this war to spread, and resistance axis is complying which is increasing Gaza's isolation. It's not in Israel's interests to be fight another front. There will be lots of excuses to not respond regardless. Probably because any Iran strike means Israel will easily do strikes on Iran from Iraqi airspace which won't hurt Iran but more so embarrass them and Iranian regime can't take that humiliation right now. They won't be able to stop some airstrikes from Israeli jets in Iraqi airspace. Few weeks everyone will have forgotten. It doesn't take weeks to muster up a response. That just means a response was not considered a option and taken off the table. Israel will do such strikes again at random times just because they can there isn't a threat to them and Iran and Hezbollah are mostly complying to keep war isolated to Gaza.
