Bangladesh Keen To Join Saudi-Pak-Turkey Defence Alliance, Says PM's Top Aide

Bangladesh has plenty to offer. If its mutually benefit and provides to be in Bangla interest then thumbs up to them. Whats with the butt hurt bro?

“Butt hurt”? And I get “infraction points” for using the word “imbecile” in a third person.

It’s not “butt hurt”, bro!

You are a Pakistani and have natural martial race instincts.

I am of Bengali extraction hence am naturally sceptical of military industrial complex.

You’ll know that very few Bengali Muslims fought for the British empire.

Why would Bangladesh fight for a society (Saudis) that treats their migrant workers worse than Hindus treat their untouchables?

All the South Asian countries are effectively labour exporters. As for Bangladesh, with the UN getting defunded and becoming increasingly irrelevant, I can understand why the military might see deployment opportunities in KSA as an alternative to UN peacekeeping missions. As long as people are honest and realistic about what the arrangement entails , I don't see anything wrong with it, but it is delusional to think that Saudi Arabia and the other members will go to war against India or Myanmaar in support of Bangladesh. If the Pakistani militarry is not going to war against India despite the revocation of IWT and attacks and subversion almost everyday in KP, Balochistan and Kashmir, do you think the FM and generals will lift a finger for Bangladesh. In any case, that is moot because no one has invited Bangladesh to be part of the pact and the Pakistani and Turkish military industrial complexes don't want to share the Saudi money with others.

Yes, BD military had a nice gig with lucrative UN deployments.

There’s heavy competition to get deployed via UN.

So, Saudi mercenary work is lucrative.

But is that the purpose of a nation’s military?

You just end up with a bloated military geared towards protecting foreign nations.

BD military is already involved with stuff like running dairy farms 🤣

Sectarian hurdle is also gone for us I guess. Our foreign ministers are the star performer of this administration.
.
Only hindustan loyalists among us left who opposes Bangladesh joining Mecca Defense Alliance. That means only absconding hindustani agent awami terrorists and their supporters (mostly hindus) are opposing.
.
This is great for our domestic potential enemy classification. Even if MDA founders don't take us in...

From my perspective, I don't think it would be wise for Bangladesh to join a pact when it is not ready to do so. It risks getting dragged in trying to meet military commitments it is not equipped to do so, and puts itself at risk for that weakness.

eg If India attacks Pakistan, what can Bangladesh offer? If it does to do anything, the military response from India is not containable for Bangladesh with its current military capabilities.

Pakistan cannot stop an invasion of Bangladesh now either, given how weak Bangladesh is militarily.

Bangladesh would do well to build up her military discreetly first and keeps its foreign policy with India within those limits. Decades of neglect cannot be turned around over nigh, this would require sustained investment at a level that Bangladesh may never want to achieve anyway. The politics of joining an alliance and fulfilling the commitments to that alliance will create more problems for Bangladesh than it will solve imho.

Bangladesh should look into annexing North East India states in the event of the war. Bangladesh can keep the lowly populated states while china gets back south tibet, sikkim and bhutan. All bangladesh needs is to do is build a strong network of tunnels and trenches with landmines and barb wire etc on the Western front and harass indians with fpv drones. On the Eastern flank bangladesh and china can annex the North East states that don't want to be part of India anyway.

My advice to Pakistani bros is not to mistake PDF jamatis as representative of the Bangladeshi voice.

There’s no support for military “alliances” in Bangladesh.

People want basic necessities addressed. For the first time in a decade factories are facing an acute power shortage. Government has introduced humiliating restrictions on use of electricity.

Even without BAL participation - it saw the Jamatis totally humiliated.

Even the BNP is on a short leash unless it can solve the acute power shortages.

Bangladeshis have a healthy scepticism of the military based on the experiences of the British empire, Pak military and military rules in 1980s.

Comedy as usual.

The talk of joining alliance is coming from the highest level of government of Bangladesh, and you who never lived in Bangladesh are claiming to know otherwise.

"Jamati" card deployed.

Just waiting for "USA conspiracy", "Malacca Straits", and "Al qaeda" for full house on my bingo card.

While I agree with your assessment about Pakistan and Bangladesh's ability to militarily help each other, that doesn't prevent Bangladesh from joining the pact. It is not like Saudi Arabia will be deploying its military against India either. What matters is how much Saudi Arabia, which is financially underwriting the pact, wants Bangladesh in. I don't see any reason why Saudi Arabia would be less willing to host Bangladeshi troops than those from Pakistan and it seems the Bangladesh military would be happy to send them there , to make up for the reduction in UN peacekeeping roles that are available.

You have been brainwashed well by Jake Tapper 🤣

I have not seen a non Jamati PDF member supporting this nonsensical proposal.

E.g. @MNZGamerX maybe correct me if I am wrong.

I have been off the forum for a while.

In fact it’s been cheer led more by Pakistanis than Bangladeshis 🤣

Pak bros, as usual, know what’s best for us 🤣

No matter what I or any Pakistani says or thinks, Bangladesh should and will do what is in Bangladesh's interests.

This is a specimen of Hasina loyalists, who will call you (Pakistanis) brother in face but backstab you in the back. For them - only good relation we should have is with India even at the expense of Bangladeshi self interest.

Unfortunately there's a quite a few of this type. Product of decades of indoctrination through media and literature.

This is why @El Sidd is how he is regarding his opinion on Bangladesh. Even though I find his whining tiring, I do get his POV.

If Bangladesh do end up joining this pact - one of the most important change it will bring is rooting out these Pro Hindutva elements from security establishments. July revolution did help but the military establishment still needs a proper shakedown to root out Sheikh family cultists from the core and make the military Bangladesh and Islam first again like it was in the 80s and 90s.

If I were to hazard a guess, based purely on the status of Pakistan's own variant form of such a serially self-harming community, I would probably expect to find such folk more concentrated outside of Bangladesh rather than actually residing therein.

Amen to that, bro!

New government is struggling badly and making hasty announcements and pronouncements.

1. Fighter jets procurements
2. Military alliances
3. Oil refinery expansion using expensive sharia loans
4. Teesta deal with China allegedly
5. Expansion of the metro at inflated cost
6. Buying new passenger jets from Boeing for the basket case Biman

Etc etc

Given the economic crisis - let’s see if any actually materialises
