All the South Asian countries are effectively labour exporters. As for Bangladesh, with the UN getting defunded and becoming increasingly irrelevant, I can understand why the military might see deployment opportunities in KSA as an alternative to UN peacekeeping missions. As long as people are honest and realistic about what the arrangement entails , I don't see anything wrong with it, but it is delusional to think that Saudi Arabia and the other members will go to war against India or Myanmaar in support of Bangladesh. If the Pakistani militarry is not going to war against India despite the revocation of IWT and attacks and subversion almost everyday in KP, Balochistan and Kashmir, do you think the FM and generals will lift a finger for Bangladesh. In any case, that is moot because no one has invited Bangladesh to be part of the pact and the Pakistani and Turkish military industrial complexes don't want to share the Saudi money with others.

From my perspective, I don't think it would be wise for Bangladesh to join a pact when it is not ready to do so. It risks getting dragged in trying to meet military commitments it is not equipped to do so, and puts itself at risk for that weakness.
eg If India attacks Pakistan, what can Bangladesh offer? If it does to do anything, the military response from India is not containable for Bangladesh with its current military capabilities.
Pakistan cannot stop an invasion of Bangladesh now either, given how weak Bangladesh is militarily.
Bangladesh would do well to build up her military discreetly first and keeps its foreign policy with India within those limits. Decades of neglect cannot be turned around over nigh, this would require sustained investment at a level that Bangladesh may never want to achieve anyway. The politics of joining an alliance and fulfilling the commitments to that alliance will create more problems for Bangladesh than it will solve imho.
My advice to Pakistani bros is not to mistake PDF jamatis as representative of the Bangladeshi voice.
There’s no support for military “alliances” in Bangladesh.
People want basic necessities addressed. For the first time in a decade factories are facing an acute power shortage. Government has introduced humiliating restrictions on use of electricity.
Even without BAL participation - it saw the Jamatis totally humiliated.
Even the BNP is on a short leash unless it can solve the acute power shortages.
Bangladeshis have a healthy scepticism of the military based on the experiences of the British empire, Pak military and military rules in 1980s.

While I agree with your assessment about Pakistan and Bangladesh's ability to militarily help each other, that doesn't prevent Bangladesh from joining the pact. It is not like Saudi Arabia will be deploying its military against India either. What matters is how much Saudi Arabia, which is financially underwriting the pact, wants Bangladesh in. I don't see any reason why Saudi Arabia would be less willing to host Bangladeshi troops than those from Pakistan and it seems the Bangladesh military would be happy to send them there , to make up for the reduction in UN peacekeeping roles that are available. From my perspective, I don't think it would be wise for Bangladesh to join a pact when it is not ready to do so. Just waiting for "USA conspiracy", "Malacca Straits", and "Al qaeda" for full house on my bingo card.
No matter what I or any Pakistani says or thinks, Bangladesh should and will do what is in Bangladesh's interests. You have been brainwashed well by Jake Tapper
I have not seen a non Jamati PDF member supporting this nonsensical proposal.
E.g. @MNZGamerX maybe correct me if I am wrong.
I have been off the forum for a while.
In fact it’s been cheer led more by Pakistanis than Bangladeshis
Pak bros, as usual, know what’s best for us![]()

If I were to hazard a guess, based purely on the status of Pakistan's own variant form of such a serially self-harming community, I would probably expect to find such folk more concentrated outside of Bangladesh rather than actually residing therein. This is a specimen of Hasina loyalists, who will call you (Pakistanis) brother in face but backstab you in the back. For them - only good relation we should have is with India even at the expense of Bangladeshi self interest.
Unfortunately there's a quite a few of this type. Product of decades of indoctrination through media and literature.
This is why @El Sidd is how he is regarding his opinion on Bangladesh. Even though I find his whining tiring, I do get his POV.
If Bangladesh do end up joining this pact - one of the most important change it will bring is rooting out these Pro Hindutva elements from security establishments. July revolution did help but the military establishment still needs a proper shakedown to root out Sheikh family cultists from the core and make the military Bangladesh and Islam first again like it was in the 80s and 90s.
