So i keep getting text messages like

"Hi I'm Liz with a local chimney company. We are offering chimney inspections before winter and we also provide chimney cleaning and repairs. Would you like to schedule an inspection"

I actually got a phone call where the guy was angry that I wouldn't agree to the service.

on the phone:
Me: "There's this teensy-weensy problem...my house...doesn't have a chimney"
"Bert": "but you must have a furnace"
Me: "yes I have a gas furnace...but not connected to a chimney"
"Bert": "..and your fireplace.."
Me: "yes I have a gas fireplace..but it's not connected to a chimney"
"Bert": "..how is your water heater"
Me: "Listen man...yes I have a gas water heater.....but not connected to a chimney...yes I even have a gas dryer and I even got a gas oven/stove.....but not connected to a chimney.
Geez!!!! I'm sorry!! What do you want from me....Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"


Sorry Bert....you ain't that lucky...no big handshakes for you...you "happy bloke"!

I get texts like that all the time from the auto glass company, AC company, roofing company.

I suspect they all originate from a backroom call center at a 7-11.

LOL!

Once a week, I carry my laundry to the laundry mat, with three cats following me.

While the clothes are being washed, the cats and I walk all over downtown.



We usually stop here. I will be sitting on the large concrete block with the three cats relaxing around me.

Two nights ago, a Oklahoma State Trooper pulled up and asked me what I was doing. Pointed to each of the three cats and told him we are out for a walk. Trooper had a good laugh and told me to have a good evening.

August 2026 was the twelfth driest August in the 139 years of keeping records. Half an inch of rain. Do not even think my small town in Oklahoma received that much.

Temperatures have been at or over 100°F nearly everyday since the beginning of July. My lush green lawn is now brown.

PHX metro area tied summer of 2024 for 2nd hottest on record.

Here in my area, no rain the past couple days. That may change by the end of the weekend. The weather babes are reporting on the latest hurricanes off Baja.
