Bangladesh Keen To Join Saudi-Pak-Turkey Defence Alliance, Says PM's Top Aide

Real reason Bangladesh is showing interest in joining this pact is they're right now actually going through the worst economic situation after the removal of Hasina government.... due to Iran war they're going through the worst oil and gas shortage.... even capital city like dhaka is facing load shading for several hours.... same situation is with other big cities like Chittagong, coxbazar, mymensigh everywhere.....

Bangladesh has total 100 plus Power plants with 29000 MW power generation capacity with major plants running on natural gas, some by coal and some by diesel and around 16% electricity they import mostly from India....

Below is the video showing the same and watch video at 2:50 where one small 5 years old girl is calling electricity board and complaining about no lights as it's her birthday.... immediately next video one hand fan seller going viral who is now missing Hasina government but at the same time happy as he said till the time current government is in bangladesh he doesn't have to worry about his business.....

There industrial sector have also taken massive hit because of this shortage...

So basically Bangladesh is either trying to get money, discounted oil on easy terms from Saudi Arabia by joining this pact or it is hoping that if India request him to not to join any such pact then he can pressure India for something big like say discounted electricity, diesel on long time payment terms or say some monetary package anything but surely bangladesh is trying to get something either from Saudi Arabia or by India....

Bangladesh situation is in reality far worst than what it looks on the surface....

indians with their circle jerking propaganda to feel important. acting like attention seeking teen age girls. lol
they're right now actually going through the worst economic situation after the removal of Hasina government.... due to Iran war they're going through the worst oil and gas shortage...
So what you're trying to say is, US-Isreal attacked Iran because Bangladeshi youths kicked hasina to india? Bery high IQ ser.
.
You have to choose only one option here. Either our economic situation is worse because we kicked your beloved terror leader killer hasina or it's because of gas shortage. You can't peddle both. lol.
.
Anyways, sudden cutoff from Qatari LNG got us off guard. American LNGs started to arrive, slowly everything is going back to normal. Don't worry about our economic situation it is more stable than later years of your beloved IMF loan begger awami terrorists era.
even capital city like dhaka is facing load shading for several hours.... same situation is with other big cities like Chittagong, coxbazar, mymensigh everywhere.....
CoxBazar and Maymensingh are big cities? That sums up indian knowledge about Bangladesh pretty well.
.
Social media is being flooded with fake 3rd class indian information warfare against Bangladesh. But those are very low IQ stuff. indians need to hire isreali consultants. Like indian military hires isreali consultants to help them against Pakistani military. lol.

I doubt BD will join the alliance. Tareq needs to find his marbles before taking such a decision, he doesn't have a pair of the required marbles. They are just trying to score some political points by fanning a popular idea.
I think he is clueless. He is being bombarded with false information by covert awami indian fraction within his party and within our government officials.
.
If we get invitation, we will join no matter what. Our foreign policy is a "Khalil and Kabir show". And the idea of Bangladesh joining MDA is so popular BNP can't back down without seriously bad political consequences...

Bangladesh is culturally, geographically connected with India..... our cuisine, dressing also similar.... we are proud south Asians...
And then we open news and social media to watch hindustanis genocidal intent against Muslims inspired by the Jewish genocide of Palestinians.

Its quite obvious. A trade war with India will hurt Bangladesh's economy even more at a time it is already facing so many headwinds and when Sheikh Hasina returns and is presumably jailed or worse, her supporters will be back on the streets and the government will have more street protests to deal with.

You are spewing nonsense. India has no ability to retaliate economically against BD.

A trade war with India will hurt Bangladesh's economy even more
How? Neither india is a export market for us, nor we are dependant on indian industrial API.
.
Kicking indian companies will benefit our own conglomerates. China can quickly fill the auto sector with joint venture. We will lose access to some cheap agro produces. Thats it.
.
And indians will never start a trade war with us. They don't hold the leverage to do so. But I pray to god that india should start a trade war with us.

Just curious why do you think, killer hasina in our hand is more dangerous than killer hasina under indian protection with political access?
.
"If" india extradites her to Bangladesh it will be fun...

I don't know if you were living under a rock while Sheikh Hasina was in power and subsequently, but deep linkages in trade and infrastructure were built over many years and when the Yunus government placed restrictions on Indian imports , India cut off the use of its land ports for Bangladeshi transhipments, which affected fast fashion and processed foods exports to third countries. Bangladeshi exporters have been trying to get these reversed.

Anyway, India is Bangladesh's second largest trading partner and Bangladesh gets everything from basic necessities like water ( Ganges treaty is expiring in a few months), agricultural, electricity and fuel to raw materials for its exports from India. Some of these can be imported from other countries like China , but India is the closest and imports from other countries will cost more, but Bangladesh does not have a land border with China and cannot get water and electricity from them or use Chinese land ports for transhipment of its exports.

Obviously, in a trade war, both parties will lose, but , Bangladesh, being smaller, less diversified and fundamentally weaker will face a greater hit relative to the size of its economy.

As for Hasina, you must have missed the news that she has announced a voluntary return in December.

Now she isn't. And her entire bloodline is absconding because I gave up living under a rock. 😂
deep linkages in trade and infrastructure were built over many years
wow, I definitely was living under a rock while doing my masters in economics. Because I don't know much about these "deep trade and infrastructure" with india. Please please please do enlightened me in this matter.
when the Yunus government placed restrictions on Indian imports
imports? Nope. In economics it is called Dumping. Google...
India cut off the use of its land ports for Bangladeshi transhipments, which affected fast fashion and processed foods exports to third countries
Garment exports find a workaround after India ends transhipment. From 2025. It will give you a zest about our current developments.
.
Middle finger salute to indian transshipment.
Bangladeshi exporters have been trying to get these reversed.
Nope. Prove you claim.
Anyway, India is Bangladesh's second largest trading partner
Was. Now it is USA. We will kick india from 3rd place too...
Bangladesh gets everything from basic necessities like water ( Ganges treaty is expiring in a few months), agricultural, electricity and fuel to raw materials for its exports from India.
wow india gives us everything (air for breathing too), yet they're our 3rd largest trading partner! Most importantly, what a deserted banana republic we are... 😆
.
How did you educated yourself in these matter? indian news channels?
Some of these can be imported from other countries like China
India is the closest and imports from other countries will cost more
LOL. We're fairly diversified. Let me give you a zest with indias beloved hasina era cotton import data. (now American cotton is more beneficial for us than using indian cotton)
.
Data compiled by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) based on central bank figures, revealed that Bangladesh imported 19.40 per cent of its required raw cotton worth of US$ 684 million from India in the fiscal year of 2023-24.

Bangladesh imported US$ 3.52 billion worth of cotton --carded and combed-- in the fiscal year 2023-24, according to the available data.

Brazil remained the country's second-highest destination for cotton import with 16.11 per cent share in the FY '24, followed by Benin 12.03 per cent and USA 10.12 per cent.

Bangladesh imported $ 568 million worth of cotton from Brazil, $ 424 million from Benin and $ 357 million from the USA in FY'24 respectively.

Around 8.0 per cent of the imported cotton came from Burkina Faso, about 7.80 per cent from Australia, 7.01 per cent from Mali and 6.94 per cent from Cameroon in the said fiscal.

Bangladesh also imported cotton valued at $ 4.0 million and US$2.0 million from China and Pakistan respectively, according to data.
.
Enjoy...
Bangladesh does not have a land border with China and cannot get water and electricity from them or use Chinese land ports for transhipment of its exports.
And we don't know that?

Nope. Only our export markets can hurt us.

LOL, she bragged on live TV that she will not flee. Yet here we're talking about her return announcement.
.
Fact is, we are having diplomatic tussle with india for not extraditing her. Lets see "if" india extradites her in December...

Hasina and Awami league's chapter has been closed permanently. They will be lurking outside of BD like Shah followers. They are international homeless.

I understand that you hate India and Hasina, but that doesn't change geography. Through its control over upstream rivers, electricity and fuel supply and being the lowest cost supplier of several goods and services, India has a lot of leverage over Bangladesh if it choses to exercise it.

The article that you posted itself said shipping through Calcutta was cheaper than Colombo and that was a year ago, before the Iran war spiked up transport costs.

Obviously, Bangladesh will not completely collapase if its relationship with India becomes like that with Pakistan, but it will pay a very heavy economic price. India will also suffer , but they have a larger capacity to absorb the damage.

I have a grain of hope that india will extradite killer hasina pretending she voluntarily returned.

Still you are peddling the same indian nonsense as before! Now you just didn't mentioned the topics I already debunked.
.
India never honored any water sharing deal with us ever. So don't try to scare us with this india controls our upstream rivers juju. We get ample rainfall ourselves. We have to invest in costly river management projects to control floods and to store water for winter and summer season anyway. India can't hold us hostage with water. Period.
.
First please learn what is the percentage of india exported electricity and fuel compared to Bangladeshs total annual consumption. A lot lower than their cotton export percentage. lol
.
Several goods and services? What goods and services? Be specific.
.
You're claiming india has lots of leverage yet you're failing to present couple of them!
The article that you posted itself said shipping through Calcutta was cheaper than Colombo
Yes so? You want colombo to develop streamlined cost-effective logistics for Bangladesh overnight?
.
Purpose was to show you that your claim of Bangladesh is dependant on indian transshipment was totally false. They lost more than us in this misadventure of theirs.
and that was a year ago, before the Iran war spiked up transport costs.
So? Do that price hike effects Bangladesh only?
Obviously, Bangladesh will not completely collapase if its relationship with India becomes like that with Pakistan, but it will pay a very heavy economic price. India will also suffer , but they have a larger capacity to absorb the damage.
What economic price exactly and where? Please be specific. You're just making generalized statements! And I have no interest in indian damage or gain.
