Oh empty shells? Are you saying without being connected the Chinese cars wont work?

The control software is all waymo. Just empty shells with batteries and motors. Even the lidar and sensors are installed by waymo

It was a Waymo car but not one of the driverless ones.
Waymo has been offering driverless service (ie nobody in the driver's seat at all) since I think 2019.

It was Google...specifically their secretive research arm GoogleX...and then Google spun it off as a separate company (Waymo).

I have already seen one of these minivans on the streets of Phoenix.

looky at what I parked behind today...a Zeekr Waymo...all the way from California to little 'ole Massachusetts...not giving rides though.

LOL! This reminds me of those Checker Taxis from the 1970's with the rubber floors they'd simply hose out. Front door "van slides" forward...back door "van slides" backwards for a french door like effect. Not sure how well that will hold out in a NHTSA side impact test.
