The $9.999 figure is almost certainly a physical limit rather than a posted rate. The precedent is well known. During the 2008 oil spike, older mechanical pumps installed decades earlier could not show a price above $3.99 a gallon because their displays had a fixed number of digits. Retrofitting or replacing those units cost an estimated $10,000 to $15,000 per pump, a bill many small operators could not absorb. A ceiling at $9.999 today is the same category of constraint with one additional digit of headroom.

If you say so since neither can be proven it’s like I said on the other thread they used to just laugh it off when Iran used to shoot off missiles against American naval forces they don’t seem to laughing it off anymore they now see it as a true threat against American naval ships we have seen those missiles takeout entire buildings and much the surrounding area just with the shockwaves one lucky hit or not something bad will happen

Ships are there to fight the war.They aren't baby dolls.Even if they get a hit or two, no big deal if lives aren't lost.
Nonetheless, USN is doing great in achieving its objectives and I doubt any other Navy can do better than them.

Yep, and US geostrategic position relative to its adversaries has vastly improved in the last 5 years

- Iran and its proxies at its weakest ever
- Syria captured
- Venezuela captured
- Cuba can’t keep its lights on
- Russia buried in Ukraine
- Chinas economy vastly underperforming pre Covid expectations and relegated to #2 economy in perpetuity
