This was a horrible and scary tragedy showing what isolation +radicalization can do to people. RIP to all the victims.

I remain conflicted about who actually was responsible for it and have a hard time believing some hijackers could aim a passenger jet at the Pentagon but nevertheless can say it was a tragedy for American people and Middle Eastern + Afghani people.

FWIW, one of the hijackers learned to fly at one of the flight schools here in Scottsdale, AZ.

Another FWIW; the US is responsible in part for the creation of Al Qaeda. bin Laden was a member of the Mujahideen during their war with the Soviets.

This is one of the main reasons I have had the Jeffersonian view...US would be far better off and its ppl more prosperous if it spent all the money that is spent on wars and power projection(maintaining bases, deployment all over the world, etc) at home instead.

Except for China and Russia ..no other country can threaten(or has the ability to reach/attack) US. No nation in US neighborhood is going to attack US. This massive home/geography advantage can allow for the US to not overly spend on defense for things like policing/waging wars/maintain world presence.
