TF-X / KAAN / Hürjet Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircrafts News & Discussions

Sea based Hurjet or whatever new aircraft will use the F414 and not the F404 that the trainer does.

Very interesting development. We may see a fighter version of the air force Hurjet use the F414 as well.

edit: Engines for reference

Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün and Air Force Commander General Rafet Dalkıran conducted a formation test flight with the domestically and nationally developed HÜRKUŞ-II prior to its acceptance activities, examining the aircraft's capabilities on-site.Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün and General Rafet Dalkıran also conducted a test flight with our jet trainer aircraft HÜRJET, equipped with the MURAD AESA Radar, following the HÜRKUŞ-II flight.

It has been revealed that TUSAŞ has selected a new engine for the HÜRJET-D, which will take off from the MUGEM.

▪️TUSAŞ requested the 'Super Hornet engine' F414 from General Electric for the naval variant of HÜRJET. 📍Defense aviation editor Tolga Özbek:

▪️TUSAŞ has said, 'We want the F414 engine for HÜRJET, which has more thrust than the F404.'

▪️General Electric has made the necessary presentations regarding this engine, and the process for the sale of these engines has begun as requested. The first step has been successfully completed.

It would seem things are moving RAPIDLY, this is not going to be a new 2 engine design, it will be single engine and the engine has been selected as the GE-F414.

I don't think the development process will be that long if its an existing design being modified. Only the landing gear and arresting gear and modifications to the airframe would be needed. They will likely start with launches from a slope on land.

It would be quite funny if we see this be ready before the HAL Tejas-Naval variant. lol

We already said this here weeks ago

A navalized HURJET equipped with the F-414 engine would be effective

MURDA-100 AESA Radar
185+ km GOKBORA ramjet powered air to air Missile
200 km JET-230 supersonic Missile
200 km CAKIR Cruise Missile ( anti-ship / land attack )
275 km SOM-J stealth Cruise Missile ( anti-ship / land attack )
RAMJET powered supersonic anti-ship Missile

TAI could take the F414 engine, make a few modifications to the existing HURJET design, and complete its development in a very short time; after all, the MUGEM Aircraft Carrier is set to enter service around 2032

There is enough time.
