Brother, I saw your reply a couple days ago but I completely forgot to respond I'm sorry, I got completely carried away with the hyenas constantly attacking us, and I just couldn't let them get away with it. It's non-stop with them.

There are some very bad faith posters on here that seemingly are only here to spread false propaganda and hate towards us, and I'm the only one apparently that bothers challenging them on their lies and smears.

Do they do that to you guys too? Do they just brazenly insult Turkey left and right and its people with no shame and spread complete lies seemingly purely out of hate?

They really seem to be just outright racists. It's dissapointing and sad to see it spread all over this forum, they pollute it with their nonsense in every thread.

I’ve seen this news story in a few places. We must patiently rebuild Syria; otherwise, it will never escape being a place that Israel bombs at will.

But I was more interested in seeing if you know of any credible sources that can confirm this, or if the article I linked is a credible journal. Or could this be made up propaganda being used by certain people online to push a narrative. If you are aware of any credible confirmation, please share.

There's been something off recently going on in Turkish socials it seems. I hope it's nothing serious.

Sozcu's source is not the govt. So they are using stuff thats been floated elsewhere.

If you want to follow Turkish politics around stuff like this, I would suggest Ragip Soylu from the MEE or Levant Kemal. They have sources from inside the govt.

I have heard nothing of this in Turkish news, only in other news where it was reported they were trying to do deconflicting where turkey would not go south, but to my knowledge, Turkey has not agreed to any of this, and we saw Turkish troops in Dier Ez Zor after the airstrike.

Its very unlikely Turkey would agree to any such arrangement with Israel.

The source isn't Sözcü. It's Türkiye Gazetesi, a pro government outlet that is well informed usually.

I believe the news is true. @Haz

Thank you for clarifying. I'm glad the Turkish government has made the right decision in this, it would have been extremely detrimental to both of us in the short and long term. I hope we can defeat this cancer and expel them entirely from our lands soon enough.

They basically pulled off the same playbook against Syrian Sunnis that Israel's been running on Palestinians; straight-up genocide. It was a full-blown massacre designed to wipe out or kick Syrians out of their own country, and the vast majority of those killed were Sunni Arab Syrians. Look, forgiveness is cool and all, but these two are literally the only ones who've actually committed genocide in the Middle East in the 21st century.

This is not a coincidence but by design.

All of this should make the Syrians in particular and Arabs in general staunch pro-Turkish allies but it doesn't happen either.

So, either Syria and its people change their outlook on Turkey and the Middle East drastically or I can envision a future in which an Israeli government post-Satanyahoo takes office that accepts Turkey's needs and let's Ankara occupy a space that our elites deem fair. All of this would occur at the expense of Syria.

One of the two things will happen, one way or another.

It's news like this that stopps people from fully committing to Damascus.

There is no forgiveness for them from us, assuming you are talking about the Iranian regime and their disgusting supporters. That's not possible, I can forgive and be respectful towards the Iranian people, but never the current regime, their crimes can never be forgotten or their proxies. Don't think that is an option or a possibility.

You seem to assume that Syrians are not already extremely pro-Turkish, which we are, and continue to be very close allies. Are we not? We have very close cooperation in trade and security. That clip you seem to be upset about frankly is irrelevant, not only is it difficult to actually see a clear image of whether or not Hatay is included, it's honestly irrelevant to us. I don't think anyone really discusses this topic on our side anymore, it's only you guys that seems to still have some anxiety about it. Why would Turkey even care or worry about it is bizarre, as if you are truly are fearful of us invading and taking it back somehow lol. That will never happen, I think it's obvious to everyone, and we it's not a worry for us. We have far greater and more immediate issues to worry about, including an invasion from the South.

We have Turkish military everywhere, our intelligence right now seems to be completely dominated by them, and we have been very reliant and dependent on Turkey and have also accommodated much of their needs. Even in the smallest of issues, that we have tried to introduce like raising tariffs in some goods to either inject immediate funding into our budget since we were running out of money entirely, or help some local industry finally get off the ground and compete with Turkish products, we immediately backdown if Turkey objects. Tariffs were already lowered after Turkey asked us to for some products, and we have already agreed to negotiate a free trade agreement as well, which benefits Turkey much more than us right now. So we continuously implement policies and accomodate Turkey's interest, even if it comes at the expense of our own. As much as we are grateful for the help, we need to find a way to start rebuilding our own country and get our own economy going again to sustain ourselves. We are completely impoverished and at 90% poverty level, and only getting worse. While you can have the right to demands after all the help you've given us, and we can try to offer what we can, but at the moment there is only so much we can do, we need time to develop and get stronger before we can repay the favour properly.

We also had no choice but to settle with the PKK as there were serious threats made by Israel and even France behind the scenes if we continued our war against them, according to rumours I've heard. No one was happy that we were forced to stop that offensive, most especially us, they were threatening to break us apart into two and steal significant portion of our land, territory, peoples and what little resources we had, so we really wanted them completely wiped from our country. But we had no choice, only a compromised prevented us from a wider and more serious war, I think that should have been obvious. Regardless, we still manage to slowly but surely cut them down little by little quietly since then. They have already started handing over to us their heavy military equipment and machinery, our own security forces have started moving in and taking over all the remaining areas that they held in Hasaka, we have started taking down their flags and symbols etc etc. This all had to happen in private, not back when the entire worlds focus was on us and they were all threatening us not to continue. I don't know what more could have been done, but I don't see anything that should upset Turkey, we did the best we possibly could given the circumstances.

And I don't understand the final paragraph, what does it mean that if Syria and it's people doesn't change its outlook on Turkey and the middle east etc etc? I don't understand what this point actually means, what more do you expect us to change that isn't the case already? You make it seems like we are hostile or something, instead of fully cooperative and friendly. Is it because we are trying to seek other allies in addition to Turkey? Is it because you guys seem to have anxiety that we seek more friends to help us, especially in the Gulf that somehow we might become enemies as a result?

I've heard this mentioned before, and it's nonsense. We need more allies for several of very good and important reasons, and it has nothing to do with Turkey. One, they are natural kin to us and neighbours, that alone should be understandible. But also, we desperately need funding and help in investments, Gulf has that and Turkey can't provide that kind of money. As you probably have seen, we already are in a serious economic crisis that has been building up for some time, we need serious financial support just to survive and not completely collapse. Our country still is in complete ruin, all the infrastructure is destroyed and needs hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild, and that is vital to help kick start our economy, because right now we don't have one and are completely broke and 25m people to take care of. The Gulf can help us with this far more than Turkey can.

And finally, and most importantly, what happens when in the next election Erdogan loses, and opposing faction takes power? There is very little risk of an unfriendly regime taking power in our country, but there is a very real and serious risk that a hostile one wins the next elections in Turkey. Did you even think of that and how that gives us some real anxiety, and how challenging it would be to us when not only a hostile neighbour is in our southern border, but could also be in our North if things change internally in your country? That's a real possibility that we need to account for, we've seen how prejudicial some Turks are against us, there are considerably very negative voices towards us all the time, especially from ultranationalists that seem to hate us simply for who we were born as, and nothing will change their mind on that. What happens if their allies take power and we are completely dependent on Turkey and have no other allies or friends? Do you think this will bode well for us as a people?

You don't seem to consider our pov on anything, it's only from your pov, and as much as we appreciate and respect you for what Turkey has done for us, and will always view them as close friends and allies, we can't be naive enough to think that this will always be the case and no one else can win the next election and things change dramatically. We need to be able to stand on our two feet at some point, become more self reliant and less dependent on anyone else, or else we'll never be able to take care of our selves and own affairs and people's needs, or defend ourselves from foreign attacks like we still are currently dealing with. We'll need help in that regard, and the more friends we can make to help advocate for us diplomatically and economically the better. We can't fight and stand against Israel alone, and I don't think Turkey will be enough either frankly, they don't seem to be willing to engage Israel directly or challenge them militarily, so we have to do it on ourselves at some point. I hope you can understand and appreciate our challenges and how we are trying to best meet them while also accommodating and remaining staunch friends and allies with Turkey as well. Nothing should give the impression that we are not.
