Pakistan announces austerity measures to conserve fuel as Gulf conflict spirals

@HAIDER sb

What is this token system about? You get a certain number of litres of petrol per week at a concessional rate?

Sir , unfortunately, i have a car and planning to buy Honda 70, if gas price sky rocket like this..Otherwise ... Well defined situation .
....

The lesson here is that unless Pakistanis produce sh!tooad of Green energy all the time , every time we have problems. This means that Pakistanis should always look to renewable energy to produce the most energy they can. From every avenue, solar, wind, ocean .. etc all the time. Pakistanis energy reliance on Middle East Arabs & Iranians, Monarchs, Dictators, is just stupid.

The government won't, but the people most likely will. Just look at the solar revolution.

Pakistani Government should wake up . Depending on morons around the world selling fossil fuels.*?
Pakistan’s have alternatives, they just need to scale them up massively. Pakistan has massive green energy resources it could tap into.

Solar energy plus storage is the right way to go. Pakistan has immense amount of wastelands with unlimited solar and wind potential.

Pakistan was on austerity measures when my dad was 10 a y/o boy
Now I am at the peak of my adulthood, but I have no doubt whatsoever that when I am an old man, Pakistan would still be on austerity measures with the same rotten, dog-faced, fat elites, bureaucrats, and politicians eating grapes and f-ing whores.
Such is life, and we are so low iq as a people group/society that their only real alternatives are TTP- and TLP-type, inbred criminals.
Oh bhai we can't even build crude oil tanks let alone plan for contingencies.

I remember oil was $26 per barrel in 2016 and I thought k koi khotay da pyo can set up a tank farm privately in Kemarri/ bin Qasim area to buy it in bulk n store it......

Mager nahi......

Itni aqal hoti to aaj ye haal ne hota.

Nah that poor guy would've gone bankrupt.

You have Iran right at the border. That legal Tank Farm wala can't compete against illegal ops of petro-diesel smuggling via Sistan Balochistan border.

Can't Iran's oil enter Pakistan? Pakistan, backed by Iran, should not lack oil channels.

Sept 17 (Reuters) - Pakistan announced on Thursday a cut in fuel for official vehicles, bans on vehicle purchases by the state, foreign visits by ‌officials, and official dinners, as part of a slew of austerity measures in a bid to conserve energy as fuel prices spike due to the Gulf conflict.
Pakistan is facing the prospect of gas and power shortages as the Gulf conflict disrupts LNG supplies and drives up petrol and diesel prices.
The austerity measures, being implemented for the second time this year, also include a ban on government purchase of all durable goods except IT procurement and a switch to teleconferencing for meetings.
Pakistan had unveiled similar measures in March, closing down schools for two weeks, cutting fuel use across government and pushing office workers to work ‌more from home in a bid to conserve fuel and cut government spending.
The South Asian nation implemented a new policy starting Wednesday that offers motorcycle, rickshaw and small-car owners a subsidy of 100 rupees (36 US cents) a litre on a capped monthly quota in a bid to ease the impact of rising prices.
Attacks by the US and Israel on Iran over six months ago has led to the disruption of oil and gas exports through the Strait of Hormuz. Now, fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthis also imperils trade through the Red Sea.
It depends on how you view the rhetoric of national politicians.
Frankly speaking, the entire world is feeling the impact of the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran—along with the ensuing chain reaction of regional hostilities—and every nation is formulating countermeasures.

This includes India. You seem to have forgotten Indian Prime Minister Modi’s earlier appeals; I suggest you go back and carefully review the transcripts of his speeches.

China is also among the nations affected by the war, with fuel prices surging. The difference, however, is that thanks to its massive strategic petroleum reserves and the strategic transformation of its energy sector, China has been minimally impacted. Even if fuel prices were to skyrocket several times over, China would remain the least affected country globally—after all, according to the latest industry statistics, the market penetration rate of electric vehicles (EVs) in China has already surpassed 74%.

This is purely my personal opinion; it does not represent the Chinese flag.

People like you are the absolute scum of Pakistan. You are not worthy to carry the flag of Pakistan.

When a nation faces a global crisis, countries around the world invariably take proactive measures. This is a common practice that fully aligns with objective realities.

Yet here you are, spouting nonsense and attacking Pakistan. Most ridiculous of all, you are actually displaying the Pakistani flag.

It is regrettable that the administrators of this forum allow you to do so.

The underground trade in refined petroleum products between Iran and Pakistan has never ceased.

According to investigations by third-party organizations, more than a million people in the Balochistan region—straddling the border between Pakistan and Iran—are directly or indirectly engaged in this trade. Chinese media outlets have dubbed them the "俾路支绝命人."

They smuggle refined fuel from Iran using rudimentary methods, relying on motorcycles or pickup trucks equipped with plastic containers. While the industry is extremely dangerous, it is also massive in scale.

We need some austerity measures in India too. Esp with respect to 5 day work from office which is completely unnecessary and has been forced only by small d*** micro managers to save their jobs. We also need to ban Thars, Fortuners and all pseduo SUVs from the roads because their owners don't add any value. It's best that they are isolated from society. This crisis is an opportunity to lock away all undesirable elements.
