Iran after the Islamic revolution should have followed only one path, the path China is now taking. He should have kept quiet and developed in all fields. It had all the prerequisites to be a successful and rich country and a prosperous society, only then could it be an example and guide for other Islamic countries and nations.

I would be happy if there was a change of consciousness both among the leading elite and among the people that only united can we succeed and prosper and we are indvidual easy prey.

If the Meccan alliance between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey is sincerely conceived as a predecessor of the alliance of Islamic states, I would like Iran, Iraq and Syria to join that alliance in the next phase and then other countries of the Middle East and Central Asia.

If Europe, after the First and Second World Wars managed to overcome its internal divisions and differences and create the European Union and NATO, I see no reason why the Muslims of the Middle East could not do the same.

And just imagine the strength of united states and peoples, do you think anyone would dare to abuse Muslims?

I don't know how we got into this situation as an Ummah, I don't know who contributed the most to it, but I know that it's not going well for all of us if we continue like this.

To be fair, any sane politician would say the same thing on TV. Even if Iran is building nuclear weapons somewhere secretly, there's no reason to say it publicly.

A piece of paper called NPT cannot stop Iran from building nuclear weapons. What can they do if Iran violates its commitments under the NPT? Sanction us?
The issue is something else entirely in my opinion.

Iran sends a 'we are ready' message to Türkiye: This was on the agenda 17 years ago!

An official statement has been released from Tehran regarding the joint free trade zone project between Iran and Türkiye, which is expected to take cross-border trade to a new level.

Hossein Foruzan, Secretary of Iran's Supreme Council for Free and Special Economic Zones, announced that his country has completed all preparations for the planned joint free trade zone in Khoy, a city near the Turkish border.

Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, Furuzan stated that they are waiting for Ankara to take the necessary steps for the project to be implemented.

17-YEAR-OLD CASE BACK ON THE TABLE

The idea of establishing a joint free trade zone between the two countries was first formalized in 2009, when the Iranian side presented a proposal to Zafer Çağlayan, the then Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

In December of last year, the then Secretary of the Council, Reza Masrour, held a critical meeting with officials from the Ministry of Trade in Ankara regarding the long-stalled process.

With this latest announcement, the project, whose foundations were laid 17 years ago, has reached the final decision-making stage.

It took Iran a whopping 17 years (!!!) just to wrap up a basic border trading zone deal. Back in the day, the trade was pretty lopsided since Turkey was importing way more energy from them. Now, with Israel going after Iran, suddenly they're all about reviving this thing. Here's the kicker though - Turkey was actually pushing for a legit, full-blown free trade agreement with basically no tariffs stretching from Balochistan on the Pakistan border to Eastern Thrace in Europe. Yet even today, Iran's leadership can't seem to pull the trigger on something that'd actually help the whole country. Why the holdup, you mighg ask. Easy, it'd mean regular Iranians could buy cheaper Turkish goods, which would naturally force IRGC-run businesses and whole economic sectors to step up their game and actually compete.

The thing is, there are powerful players in Iran's government who've gotten fat off the sanctions. Those folks will fight tooth and nail to keep their cushy setup intact, no matter what.

There's zero long-term planning or strategy in Tehran when it comes to foreign policy and especially Türkiye. It's like all state actors are evil by default and only proxies are reliable.

They refused free trade with Türkiye, they refused to fight PKK and PJAK with Türkiye, they refused to share power in Syria with Türkiye, they refused to operate together on the Karabakh issue with Türkiye, they didn't support Türkiye's effort to join the P5+1 group aka JCPOA and so on.

All of the above would have been immensely beneficial for Iran, Türkiye and the entire region.

If you want to remain optimistic, well, there're voices in Türkiye who believe that a post-war IRI will change its relations with Türkiye completely, learning from past mistakes, and striving for a much closer bilateral cooperation.
