On September 22, at the 2026 Hangzhou Yunqi Conference, Alibaba Group CEO Wu Yongming issued the clearest signal yet of AI expansion, positioning machine intelligence as the most profound transformation in human society since the Industrial Revolution and anchoring a full-stack strategy spanning AI models, AI chips, and AI cloud.

T-Head officially unveiled its next-generation AI chip, the "Zhenwu V900." Positioned as China's highest‑performing AI chip to date, it delivers three times the computational power of its predecessor, the Zhenwu M890.

In terms of cluster scalability, a single cluster built on the Zhenwu V900 can scale to an astonishing 500,000 GPUs, easily supporting the training and inference of cutting-edge supermodels. Looking ahead, Alibaba expects that, as T-Head's chip product line matures and gains broad customer adoption, its AI chip annual shipments will increase significantly.

In terms of advances in large AI models, the Qwen team is exploring a concrete technical pathway toward artificial superintelligence (ASI): recursive self-improvement (RSI).

Alibaba disclosed plans to train a new model with 5 to 10 trillion parameters, aiming to tackle more complex, long‑range tasks. Meanwhile, multimodal models that integrate understanding and generation have also become a core R&D focus.
