I read the main Chinese newspapers daily. People's Daily included. I actually love reading Chinese media and following its government accounts. Started doing it during the pandemic. Chinese media as a different perspective on the world, a more positive one.

That would be a remarkable turn for the Germans considering they are 0-2 in the last 100 years of so with a lot of destruction left in their wake.

I follow CGTN myself, it has less dense writing than People's Daily.

It is rather good. Some good documentaries too. I do like China Daily too. Global Times is also rather good. The thing about Chinese media is that its positive, broad range of ideas and I particularly like the way there's focus on history and personal stories. I was so miserable in the UK during the pandemic, I spent hours hanging around reading Chinese media and followed all the Chinese festivals online. What was a miserable time in the UK turned out to be the happiest and most memorable time I've ever had online. I ended up writing a ton of Chinese inspired poetry and learning Chinese cookery. So thats what I did while the rest of the road was either dying of Covid or drinking their miseries away with tons of alcohol.

So while everyone's busy China bashing, I really quite like the Chinese culture and media. I used it as a means of survival and still do sometimes.
