Coming to having no choice. Alright, everyone is angry and wants payback. Lets go and get it as you said, with 10,000 unguided bombs. Lets say we drop these over the course of a couple months as part of a sustained air campaign.
First of all, our intelligence literally sucks. Have not found TTP leader Mehsud in years. Most of these bombs will be dropped on the wrong locations. Our civilian death tally will be in the thousands. The Taliban will go back to their NATO era policy of traveling single file on individual bikes and vehicles to minimise their casualties. They will lose some leaders who will be replaced by any of their 15 sons. High value guys will go completely underground (they've been doing this for 2 decades against a much higher caliber air force, they know the drill)
Civilian death toll on Afghanistan will provide further fuel for Taliban recruitment, there is no special training or knowledge transfer that they will have lost from their dead commanders.
Border will be open because again, our intelligence really sucks and there is also a lot of conflict of interest going on at the border which is a completely separate issue. Suicide bombers start driving in by the droves.
All of this is actually irrelevant because it will never happen because Asim Munir will be busy negotiating peace between Peru and Ecuador via the Kuzco Pact (empty piece of paper that says Inshallah on it)
